Anyone here not drink in college?

I was never a huge lush in college because I was under 21 and wasn't really into the whole frat party scene.

by my junior year, most of my friends had turned 21, though, so I drank in their apartments and when they had parties, and by my senior year, I knew enough people that I could go to bars and not get carded. but getting drunk 2 nights a week (3 during my senior year when I had no friday/monday classes 😱) never had a major impact on my studies. it's just a matter of not being a dumb *** and learning to prioritize.

also, drinking made big presentations and speeches a lot easier 😛 I'd get a bottle of fruit juice from the vending machine, drink a quarter of it, fill it back up with vodka or gin, and just take some swigs of it as necessary.

You guys are boring and probably sleep alone. Alcohols biggest positive when young is it gives young women an excuse for why they slept with you. If you are the doorstop in the corner not having fun then you just get left out.

I am about to graduate with my masters and I never drank at all. But at parties I knew how to have fun and rarely slept alone if I didn't want to.

But if you werent drunk, then youre just the guy who was preying on the drunk girls 😀

I drank a good amount in college. Never drank in highschool, had a couple drinks my freshmen year of college. After that, I drank on the weekends. Once I turned 21 though, I started going to the bars about 4x a week. Now that im graduated I still usually drink on the weekends, and have the occasional after-work beer at a bar.

I was usually the one being preyed on by the drunk girls 😉. And I was happy to play along 😉.

Enjoy your herpes and future McJob.

@OP: I'll be graduating in May, and I don't drink. It doesn't really appeal to me. Other people do, I don't have a problem with it.

I graduated first in my class....and I had a lot of fun. If you are smart you don't have to spend all your time studying. If you aren't smart enough you should take a slightly lower grade yet actually enjoy yourself. Learning how to interact with people is as important as getting good grades. I will hire someone with a lower GPA who has a personality and had fun in college before I will hire the 4.0 wallflower. Grades don't mean everything people.

So a person can't interact with other people in college without being drunk and sleeping around? Interesting....

That wasn't my point. My point is there is a lot more to your education than getting a 4.0. Anyone can study 24/7 and get a 4.0 because school just isn't that hard. In the real world that 4.0 doesn't mean much if you don't understand how to deal with people. I would rather have a guy that can actually close the deal with a woman working for me, even if his grades were not as high. I also wouldn't want to hire someone who lived at home while they went to college. Lots of thing are involved in your education besides those grades.

you are clearly underrating the accomplishment of a 4.0 GPA (at least at relative to the university I attend).

nice. took me a few seconds, but then again, i drank in college so my brain is probably functioning at a much lower level than all of the teetotallers'.

I had alcohol maybe once or twice in college, but that's about it. Am I an oddball? It seems like everyone gets plastered in college.

I drank a little bit, but never got plastered. I did throw up once, but I wasn't drunk... I drank beer most the night and played a game of Kings before I left a party. Well, let's just say I got the last King and half the people playing were drinking mixed drinks and the other half were drinking beer. My tummy doesn't like mixing 😛.

World of Warcraft started turning me into a drinker (still never getting drunk) though. You'd never imagine the pure mental pain and torture that PVP under the ranking system with random people (called PUGs to those with WoW knowledgE) could put on someone. I almost went crazy putting up with all the crap and spent almost 10-12 hours a day :Q!

Sex skills are not necessarily people skills (more of a subset)... do you want your hire hitting on all of your woman clients? 😛

Coming from the grandest toolbox of them all 😉.

Finishing up my freshman year, not a drop of alcohol has touched my lips. I don't like drinking where they have guards just to get you 😛. When I go home for the summer, a few beers here and there will be all I ever have.

I'm in my second year of college. No alcohol, no parties.

🙁

I don't think I've had a weekend where I don't get completely sh!tfaced.
Weekends are my time to play catch-up on homework. Getting drunk would interfere with that.
And, the idea of losing any self-control is quite unappealing to me. I like to retain what control over my mind I do have.
But what doesn't do anything for me may not be relevant to anyone else.

it this honestly even possible?

Even my really really nerdy room mate, who always used to lock himself in his room and study seriously 20/7 i still managed to drag him out one day for his bday, and pop open a bottle of Remy XO.

So im asking is this even possible?

Bah for those that is, i guess you guys dont have a real social life :X

Because even nerdy guys like above have friends like me to drag them out. None of my friends, nerdy or not, could never make it all 4 years without taking at least 1 shot with me. Hell you need to drink that night b4 graduation even.

You go though college once. 😛

I had a few beers on the weekends with some friends. I think its normal for college student to have drink once a week.
