Got one a few months back in CA for 79 in a 65. Bail was $280 I think. Contested it through TBD but lost. Couldn't take traffic school either cause that was my second within 18 months. FML.

Not that you want to hear this now, but you can get a new trial in front of a judge and they'll likely grant you traffic school and maybe even a fine reduction.

True dat. The northern part of I-95 in NC, from Wilson north, is 70 mph, the rest is 65 mph. Everyone drives 70+, and at night they speed up to 80+, it's crazy.

I doubt the judge will grant you traffic school unless you have goddamn good reason especially if both offenses were speeding. The fine is nothing to me, it's getting raped by the insurance companies due to the points on your record that bothers me.

I got one for going 46 in a 25 zone last November (and it was in a school zone to boot) and it was $370. I went to traffic school to keep the points off my record.

I was going the same fucking speed as everyone else around me but he singled me out.

Going with the flow of traffic is usually fine, but when you're going 21 mph over the limit in a school zone he has to pull someone over.

Scramblers that work are actually radar jammers, and are illegal (federally, FCC). Scramblers that don't work, well, don't work. Further, most states will allow radar and laser detectors, Virginia for one doesn't allow them at all. A slightly smaller number of states allow laser jammers.

Georgia is such a slow state. So many slow 55 highways that can easily take 65+

At night on I-65 through Alabama ran 98.7mph according to the GPS with a group of about 10 other cars.

What's the safe speed in a 65 now in CA?

I'm pretty sure I've been radared at least two or 3 times on SR85 going to work between 70 - 75. Thought I was gonna get pulled over twice but he pulled someone on my RIGHT over. Sheesh. I promised I was gonna drive slower and I try 65-72 now, but yesterday some Asian lady just pissed me off by fluctuating from 62 - 78. Everytime I tried to pass, i'd have to go into 80 only to have someone merge in front of me, and I'd have to merge back behind her.

Maybe I'll just have to waste more brake pads and live with the slow drivers on the road instead of trying to get around.

i got one a months ago, 38 in a 25 zone. $202 fine. i'm fighting it for sure. got the speed survey saying the critical speed is 35mph and that the 25 limit makes 90% of the motorist speeders. the posted limit is not supported by the speed survey so this is very clearly a case of illegal speed trap according to the CVC.

Hasn't gone up yet in Illinois. $75 dollars for anything 1-20 over, 21-30 is $95, 30-40 is $105, 40+ is reckless and is a Class A Misdeameanor, approx 2000 dollar fine. That is before court costs, but you can avoid court all together here.

The fucked up thing is the road is regularly a 45mph road with 2 lanes in each direction. There is a sign that says school zone when children are present but there were no children in the area I was. They were about 1/2 mile up the road at the light where the cop was sitting with his radar gun.

The speed limit through VA is 65. Minimum speed is closer to 70 with average speeds around 75-80. It makes for a hefty ticket if you get pulled from the pack.

Got a ticket over the 4th of July weekend out in the Bay Area doing.. 80 in a 65.. It'll be about a $260 ticket, with the traffic school fee tacked on, if I lose my case. I had the cruise set to 75 as I do pretty much every day I commute.. no idea what the hell this CHP officer was smoking.
