My boss pays my bill. :) And I was told by the IT guy that I could upgrade my phone as I choose to, I just didn't know if AT&T would be jerks about it or not.
Been unlocked on AT&T and using international phones since day 1.

Had no issues going from my Nexus 5 to OPO. Stick to the same APN.

Should I just let an AT&T rep set up the phone? I'm unfamiliar with ^^^.

No don't let them set it up. make sure you have the microsim plugged into another ATT LTE enabled phone then plug it into the OPO. If you let them update the IMEI, your LTE will be disabled.

There's a thread about it in OPO forum.

The other AT&T LTE phone in my home is my wife's Moto X, we don't have one that has a microsim slot. I'll look for the thread in the OPO forums, thanks for the tip.

The only tip I can give you is that once you're on an LTE plan or whatever, you're set... at least in my experience.

What I noticed was when I RMAed my international GS2 and won a free Windows Phone (the 2012 windows phone challenge crap), and I couldn't get data to work because it was my first time with an LTE phone. Called AT&T and they fixed it in no time. Since then I just swapped SIMs with different phones.

So basically if you have LTE, you never need to call AT&T.

That's great to know. I just have to go buy a microsim at the AT&T store then and do the activation myself at home.

You shouldn't have to buy a sim. They'll just give you one. Since you're paying for service.
If you have a spare phone like a GS3 or something similar that takes microsim. Take that to the store and they'll give you one.

Wait sorry, I just read your posts in a bit more detail. You're using a nano sim? Why not just stick to that. Buy an adapter. Its like $5 off Amazon or so. I use a NanoSIM now that I got with my 5s during my upgrade (sold it immediately after launch day). This allows me flexibility to use an iPhone or any nanosim phone in the case I need it. Remember you can always go larger with adapters, but going smaller is harder unless you get a new SIM or you want to risk SIM cutting on your own.

I have something like this: http://www.amazon.com/MediaDevil-Sim...no+sim+adapter

BTW, even if you get a new SIM, you can just tell them to activate the SIM. They don't need the phone to do that. I had to get a new nano SIM for my mom switching to a Nexus 4 last week, and we did it in store. We had her old 3GS (no data plan ever), and we slipped it in using an adapter. Got home and used the nano->micro adapter and swapped it into the N4.

I guess I was thinking of going with a new sim card as I've heard (read?) some stories about people wrecking their phones with sim tray adapters. I'd rather use the existing sim card as long as it's safe to do so. Seems like it would simplify things greatly.

It would, especially since (as said earlier) AT&T shouldn't charge you for a different size SIM. Just go to the store and tell them what size you need. That's what I did when I bought a 2nd hand phone and it was a quick store visit. Better to have the size you need since it's free.

In my experience, it was safe.. My 5s nano SIM has been in my Nexus 5 and OPO.

If you're talking about wrecking, just make sure the adapter isn't some crappy made one. I have two sets from Amazon and they work great on my own OPO and my mom's Nexus 4.

What you do NOT ever want to do, is to stick the SIM tray back in with the NanoSIM adapter with NO SIM inside. Why? Because there's spring pins in the phone that push against the non-existent SIM. Its needs to push against a SIM to ensure a secure electrical connection w/ the gold contacts on the SIM, but without a SIM, it just locks your adapter in place. I did something stupid like that back in October or whenever I got my 5s. I wanted to "try out the adapter" to make sure it fit and it got stuck in my N4. Couldn't eject it. There's more than a couple guides of what to do if you run into a situation like that, but that's all I can think of when you mean "ruin the sim tray."

Of course I've only tried with 3 phones since going nano, but there could be more issues out there I'm unaware of.

Edit: It's ultimately up to you. I just like the flexibility of being able to switch to any phone at this moment without worrying about going to the AT&T store.

I took my SIM card out of my Note 2, popped into the One Plus and it has worked great. 14Mbps down 6Mbps up with 80 ms ping. Speeds used to be 2x faster in the NJ area but still nice (in MI now)

I'm still looking to get one. Hows the reception on it? I've been hearing it's not the best.

i had both and now on the note 3.

it's better than the note 2 for sure.

I wasn't aware that the reception on the Note 2 was that bad. Good to know that if I'm able to get the One+, that I'll get a better signal. How do you like the Note 3 vs either the One or Note 2? Reception strength and in general.

Note 3 and the one plus is a big improvement over the note 2. I made the jump because the note 2 started to be sluggish for me. I also wanted a better screen for watching my media on the commute to work. Reception from all three devices are comparable.
I made money trading up so I made the jump. If not I may still be with the note 2 now.

OK call me a noob if you must, but where are the widgets on this phone? I'm in my first hour or so messing with it, and haven't come across them.
