Wow... got an invite yesterday and it won't let me redeem it now because I didn't redeem it in 24hours.

The invite system was already stupid and they pull this BS? I was probably going to give away the invite here and now I can't do squat.

Time for a boycott

Yeah their 24 hour time limit is dumb, they assume nobody has a life and just checks their email all day.

Am still deciding. Seems like it has a lot of issues.

not sure what issues people are reporting. But the only thing that I heard about is the yellow hue, but that's due to the glue not curing all the way. Put some UV light to it and that should resolve that.

Yeah it's stupid. I've been turned off by reviews enough to not be that bummed about it, but I would have liked to get an invite to somebody I knew would use it here.

I had the phone and I had no issues with it. Phone was fast and the battery life was great. It's an absolute beast at $350 and worth picking up IMO. if all else get it to flip it and buy it at a later date when it's more readily available.

Did you sell just to flip or another reason?

I just got an invite, and placed my order. Don't know if I'm going to keep it, but I can't wait to play with it.

I traded the phone for 200 cash + like new Att 32gb iPhone 5s and the guy assisted in getting the device unlocked for me.

I have a buyer for the iPhone for $500+right now.

Only reason why I flipped is because I got the note 3 a month back and the wife was giving me crap about buying the one plus. The invite to purchase was a total surprise so I bought it without telling her and she made a big stink

I got my OP on Friday and sold my Nexus 5 yesterday and am getting ready to sell my Note 3 as soon as I get home early enough from the office to get some good pictures.

The OP, to me at least, is a combination of the Nexus 5 and the Note 3 in one tidy package. It really has exceeded my expectations.

Damn, and I can't get an invite to save my life. My luck...

I may end up selling my note 3 for this one too. Since I run 64gb total on the note 3
The OPO really is a nice phone. Very snappy and has a bunch of useful functions.
The speakers on the device is amazing too. The ear speakers can use a bit of a boost however. But I read that it can be changed on the software side.

http://phandroid.com/2014/07/14/oneplus-one-yellow-screen-hardware-defect/

I don't know how many of the phones have the yellow band issue mentioned in this article. That isn't so much the issue anyway. I've had to deal with display issues on my Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, and Note 3 (each required more than one RMA to get resolved).

Defects are a random gamble with many devices. But disappointing that One Plus requires you ship the defective phone all the way back to China and require you pay the shipping (which the article mentions in $56 in one owner's case).

Apparently there is a work around for the yellow screen. You just need to put it under UV light for 10 minutes or so... or just leave it out in the sun for few hours

The issue is overblown. But I may be saying that as someone who doesn't have the yellow screen issue. It affects multiple phones and it should go away if you put your device under the sun a bit.

I get it that the OPO is a bit warm in terms of screen color, but I find its out of the box screen to look more amazing than an N4 or N5 for sure.

Agreed. Mine has no yellow that I can see and no dead pixels so maybe QC is getting better as they go or production is ramped up to the point that where they have things ironed out. All I know is if you are looking for a bigger Nexus this is it. Battery life is spectacular compared to the Nexus and camera is much better as well.

CM runs buttery smooth and the physical feel of the phone in your hand is much better than the Note as it is just slightly narrower and the curved back does make a noticeable difference. Speed or quickness of the OS is very Nexus like as there is no stutter, lag or anything that I have experienced. It really is quick like the Nexus 5.

I know I sound like a fanboy but if you get a chance to try one out, do yourself a favor and do it. I am more than impressed.

Best hardware/software combination I have used to date. Camera could be better as its not as good as my Note 3 but it is better than the Nexus. Other than that I don't really see any flaws.

I'm considering getting a OnePlus One, but need an invite. If I can't get one I'm probably just going to get a Nexus 5 or wait for the phones coming out this fall.

EDIT: Forget OnePlus, decided to wait

1+1 is bullshit. When will more invites be spread? Why not just go with a Nexus 5 then? Readily available... ugh.
