Does this work on Verizon? I was set to get an LG G3 but it has shit battery life and I already wasn't very happy w/ the 5.5" screen size. I wish this thing had a 5" screen, that would be nice.

GSM only for OnePlus, so no Verizon.

You know...the one plus is larger than the g3 so if you weren't happy with 5.5" screen in the smaller body what makes you think a bigger body would make you happy?

Check around, many of the tech sites have reviewed it already. They get phones ahead of time for just this reason.

They reviewed GSM/LTE versions optimized for Korean networks but connected to Euro or American GSM networks. The devices also did not include tweaks to work with Verizon networks which might improve battery life, nor did they include the bloatware Verizon typically installs. So no, no one's reviewed the battery life on it. Hence all the disclaimers about the battery life evaluation not being realistic. You know, the disclaimers that every review site has pasted all over their battery life evaluations??

The problem is posting a Verizon only review doesn't give the rest of the world's readers much information.

By default CDMA radios take different amounts of power, so its almost like you need a Verizon only review site that reviews a Verizon model for everything. I'm pretty sure even the single model iPhone performs differently on AT&T and Verizon.

Yeah they should separate the reviews.

I got mine today. Won an invite from Engadget Storm contest. Overall the phone size is comparable to the note 3. Absolute bargain at 349 for the 64gb phone.

After waiting for what seemed like months, actually it was as I signed up March 5, I received notice of my invite on July 8. Placed my order within 5 minutes. Order was confirmed on July 9. Received today at 2:22 PM (US, Michigan). Shipped from California, 2-day air.

It really is quite the presentation in how it is packaged. You have seen enough unboxing's but there really was significant effort put into the presentation after you open the brown shipping box that contains the phone.

I snapped a couple of picture of the OnePlus One next to my current stable of phones to give you a comparison in size.

Software update right off the bat. No yellow on the bottom of the screen. No dead pixels that I could see.

I'll have more after I get it setup and play with it for the weekend, but it performs like a larger Nexus. My only issues with the Nexus is the battery life and to a lesser degree the camera, so I'll see how the OP fares in these two areas primarily.

For now, a couple of quick pictures so you can see the size difference between some older and current phones.

These results show pretty convincingly that the OnePlus One trounces the Nexus 5 (no big feat) and in general does pretty well compared to flagships today. As a N5 user my experiences have been very positive in the battery department. In the software department there are a few bugs here and there, but so far with the latest OTA, it appears the CM team is addressing them. There's another OTA coming out end of July, with quite a few issues addressed too.

The problem is then you would need to compare the international versus T-Mobile/AT&T versions versus Verizon/Sprint versions. That's a lot of comparing to do ;)

Edit: Maybe no T-Mo/AT&T versions are really necessary anymore given they're typically international versions with different bands now. But this used to be an issue with like the S3 when the SoC was completely different too.

Different bloatware, different features, and significantly different firmware.

Finally received an invite today, I dunno what I'm going to do with it, but it's a smoking deal.

If anyone gets an extra invite I would certainly like it. I'm still running an original Samsung Galaxy S1 and really need an upgrade, and since I don't want to pay $600+ for a Note 3 I think this is it.

I have to ask, why are you still using an S1? There have been several Nexus releases since then as well as many other very good phones to choose from.

Battery life on Saturday when I was trying to kill it to see how long it would last. Brightness set on Auto.

Mostly money. We are not on contracts, using Pay-as-you-go service, so no subsidies. I keep upgrading the kids and SO's, but since my S1 is a keeps chugging along I never got around to upgrading it. But it is pretty ridiculously bad compared to the last generation or two. I really need the upgrade.

@Radeon962: Feel free to let me know when you get your second invite. I got my first on June 7th but have yet to get a second one.

I don't expect to receive additional invites until they get through the current queue of users on the site, unless I'm mistaken. I did not think that early supporter invites got you anything more than one invite at the present time.

Would be nice to get another as my son wants to get one now and sell his S4 after using my OP.

You could have picked up a Nexus 4 for around $150 and had much more enjoyable user experience while you waited.

I might as well add my beg for an invite to the list. I've been waiting and waiting for my invite and have entered every contest I've come across. No luck. bah
