DXR is the standard all the games are using. It can and will be supported by AMD and Intel. They just don't want to do it yet because their cards would be rubbish at it. However one day you will be playing all the current ray traced games on a AMD card just fine.So now we equate RTX with Ray Tracing?
To your information RTX tech IS proprietary. Ray Tracing is not. And right now, who offers the only RTX GPUs on the market? Hence why currently, Ray Tracing is proprietary in gaming.
