<< Jewish people today are not a race, they are a group of people who share the same religion and the same culture. >>

It is true that the Jewish people span many countries and life styles, however there definitely is a Jewish ethnic group. People can "look" Jewish, have Jewish Names, act and sound Jewish. I have tons of friends that consider themselves ethnic Jews.

Seeing as how Jesus was supposed to be Jewish, I would laugh at someone's pathetic attempt at changing the ethnicity of one of the Christian religion's major figures. I would laugh at a blonde haired, blue eyed Jesus picture as well. People always bitch about pictures of Jesus having blonde hair and blue eyes, but I have never seen one.

<< - There's no evidence that Jesus ever existed. >>

not true according to historians theres plenty of evidence (im not arguing his divinity or anything else; just that there was a historical figure )

*not a chrisitian*
>>

Actually, there's just one document from one 'objective' person from around the Jesus was supposed to have lived. The few references in this document twards Jesus are almost certainly false. In other words, the document has been tampered with.
One reason why it is assumed that these parts of the document were falsified is because suddenly the writer appears to let go of any objectivity.

Just read for yourself: Jesus: history or myth?

<< In different cultures, Jesus is portrayed differently. In the west, Jesus is white, in China he's chinese (and so on). In reality Jesus would have had darker skin color (think of people in Middle-East). Oh, and he would have had short hair, not the long hippie-look you see everywhere (bible forbids men from growing long hair). >>

first off, the bible does not forbid men from growing long hair. secondly, Mary made a covenent with God saying that her son would be a nazarene which, among other things, forbids him to ever "bring a razor to his head".

thanks to SpecialEd and TheBlondOne for staing what should be obvious. NO ONE KNOWS FOR SURE! We don't have a photograph to go on, so anyone speculating is doing just that.

But more importantly, IT DOESN'T MATTER! WHO CARES? IT'S JUST MELATONIN! White, black, brown, it's all good.

Exactly!!! finally somebody who understands... I get so annoyed when people get bogged down in insignificant details about things we'll never know about anyway.

We will never know what Jesus actually looked liked!! and more importantly, it wasn't Jesus's looks or ethnic background that made him founder of the Christian religion! If you want to discuss Jesus... read about his teachings in the four Gospels. then we'll talk about jesus....

Christianity is the improved version of Judaism? Jesus was supposed to be Jewish, you know :)

BTW, I have read these 'gospels' and I wasn't even mildly impressed. I found 'Das Kapital' and the 'Pali Canon' far more impressive.

recently saw a black jesus. n then a chinese jesus. what the fuQ!!!

Does it bother what color Jesus is? I mean, if people really believe in the religion and the bible, the way Jesus is represented does not matter! For all that we know, Jesus could've been fat and ugly (no offense meant here). Its just that we think of him as an ideal image, a model for us, that is why each ethnicity will have its different representation. ;)

never read 'Das Kapital' or 'Pali Canon'. I'm sure they have some good things so say. Personally I love the Gospels; one of my favorite parts of the bible. the Parables can be interpeted on soo many different levels... sorry to hear your weren't impressed by them. Everyone has different tastes.

If Jesus came back today, Ashcroft would put him in a concentration center on an "immigration violation" :)

Ahh Major League, what a great movie :D

I don't consider myself a religous person, but religon is not about a person. It is about a belief or teachings of a person. It doesn't matter what the person looked like, what matters is what the person did.

<< Totally off topic.
If both your parents are Egyptian and born in Egypt, and you are born in the USA, are you African American even if you look white?
>>

This is a big problem in America today.
HELO: If you were born in America, you are AMERICAN. I am NOT a German-Italian-Scots-Irish-American. I am an American with German, Italian and Scots-Irish roots. The person to which you refer would simply be an American of Egyptian descent. If the parents were naturalized Americans, they would be African American or Egyptian American. If they were simply Egyptian Ex-Patriates, they'd be Egyptians.

You do realize that all content after the gospels was written some 50 to 300 years after the death of Jesus. Most of them are the letters of St Paul, including Corinthians, and were written 50-70 years after Jesus' supposed death and resurrection.

Paul had a LOT to say on a very dubious claim of simply "seeing" a vision of Jesus one day. In fact, Christians seem to follow his word more than the word of Jesus.

More than a few people have said Christianity in it's present day form should actually be called "Paulism."
