Awesome Raspewtin. That's *exactly* what I was trying to point out.
Still though, you'd probably need to throw even more random calculations in there because you have to take into account how much time you spend in each room. If you spend 23 hours a day in your bedroom and 1 in the living room, obviously you can't make 1 square foot in the bedroom worth 1 square foot in the living room.
Bah...
Here's something I saw on Full House once. Keep in mind, it was probably a decade ago so my memory about it's kinda hazy...but here it goes:
Stephanie and DJ were fighting over a piece of cake. They eventually decided to split it but that didn't stop the fighting because each wanted to do the cutting to benefit themself. Then someone came in the room with a simple solution (uh...Uncle Jesse?) DJ cut the cake into two pieces and Stephanie picked the piece she wanted. Then the two sisters got naked and had a party. (You don't really see it but you can pretty much tell that's what's gonna happen)
Well what does this all mean?
Nothing probably since you've said nothing about cake but you can imagine that choosing rooms in an apartment was as oversimplified as cake. To start with, you all decide which one of you would be willing to take the middle room and pay exactly 1/3 of the rent for it. It seems like there's no beef with that guy and that he's happy how things are.
Then for the other two rooms, person X sets prices for each of them and person Y picks the room with the prices X set.
Bah, this is crap.
