Some of my asian coworkers commented the other day at lunch their disappointment in being continually served bread as opposed to rice. I find rice a little bland, but cheap and good when mixed in a meal. Still, I prefer the good ole potato, the white man's carb.

Potatoes are MUCH more nutritious than rice, FYI.

This happens to everyone. Rice is like the most essential ingredient for any meal. I'm not just saying this because I'm Asian~ Btw, white rice > fried rice.

a bowl of white rice is awesome with meats, because it complements very well with the salty part of the meats. As a matter of fact, any thing super flavorful will go great with rice.

Wow, I actually agree with you for once. I love spicy, salty dishes complemented by rice and a cold beverage. Although I'm used to rice with almost every meal growing up, I'm fine with a meal without rice. Now meat on the other hand...is almost essential.
