BTW, I went through this back in June.
Just a few months before my mother died, I was visiting her in CA and her old early 90s Sony was bugging the crap out of me.
So I took her to CC to buy her the same Samsung I have in my bedroom. The 46" a550 LCD.
So we get all the sales finalized for the TV, BD player and stand. Then we are sent to the pick up area. The guy comes out with a 46" a750 box (about $1500 more) and asks us where our car is. Without hesitation I said he had the wrong TV and that I didn't think the store wanted to give me a TV that costs $1500 more than I paid. My mom looked at me with a kind of surprised pride (that I will miss now for the rest of my life). I asked her "why the funny look?" She said she was so proud of me and that even she would have hesitated and contemplated taking the more expensive TV. I told her she taught me too well. She said nothing and her eyes welled up. I had to walk away.
Fuck I miss my mom.

Here is my problem:
The OP would be in a rush to send it back if they had sent him too small of a TV. But because he is on the positive end, he is making a big deal about sending it back. While the retailer did make a mistake, the OP should have some integrity and do the right thing. This is the kind of thing that drives prices up. The retailer loses money on this deal and will have to make up for it somewhere else.
I hope the OP does keep it. I hope that every time he looks at it, he is reminded that not only did he screw the retailer, he screwed every other customer that is going to buy there. It should be a big shining example of how miserable of a person he is.

So you have a product that has not been paid for - isn't that stealing?

Ok I talked to CSR and they were unwilling to negotiate to a reasonable price.
I pointed out that today on BF the same model TV goes for $900 online and offered them $810 (accounting for 10% of a opened box item). The CSR said that the TV normally goes for $1800 on their website and that the best they could do was drop it to $1200 which was the lowest price they've had on this item this year. Unwilling to accept this price I asked them about if they had any special arrangements with USPS to pickup the item that they mistakenly shipped to me, but the CSR said that they would only send me a prepaid shipping label. So I asked what about the box that I ripped open!? He said that I shouldn't have opened the box and that I should do my best to "restore it to its original condition" and use the prepaid shipping label.
This is truly BS. They are not making it any easier for me to return this thing and they won't negotiate...

Just curious,
Because I bought a 32" LCD TV online and to my surprise I received a 46". The company now demands that I ship the item back and is willing to pay for the shipping cost, but frankly I don't want to give it up unless I have to![]()

Since they already refunded your money, put it back in the box with no packing materials and send it off.

Just like I said. They no longer have to negotiate with you. That's what you get for being a troll.

Haha. They have your address and CC info, they can totally screw your credit over. Heck, they can even charge you for grand theft at this point, have fun trying to get a job/loan with a felony and a shit credit score.

Wow, you're not to quick. When they called, the conversation should have been as follows
Company> Hi, we shipped you the wrong TV and would like to ship out the correct model and have the delivery person pick-up the one you have.
You> Hi, I was wondering about that. I would have called you already except I was out of town when the TV came and my wife already paid our computer/AV technician to purchase and install a mount for it, and connect it to our home theater, computer, dvd, PS3, xbox, etc. I didn't call since I figured you wouldn't be interested in paying to have him come out here again, disconnect everything, dismount it, repackage it, purchase a new smaller mount, and reconnect the new one to everything. I checked the price of the unit on your website and realized the cost for his labor and supplies are more than double the difference between the two TV's.
Company> Merry Christmas. Enjoy your TV. <click>

He still should be able to do this. Also say you have no tools to remove it so they have to send someone there.
