I'm not big on horror movies, most of them think gore=horror where I find it mostly boring, but one movie that stood out to me in a good way was 1408. I wish I knew of more films like it.

this is the only good one that I can think of.

The majority of films today that are classified as "horror" are basically just gore and cheap shock shclock that only appeals to stupid people (think: Saw, Hostel, etc). None of it is horror.

I saw them both (foreign, then the remake) when all the hype was around it and found them both just...boring. They weren't scary at all, in fact...had nothing that stood out about them at all. Opinions I guess.

Sure they weren't scary.

They were romance, drama, horror, and nothing else you could describe into one.

The original is so great is the reason why I watched it over 20 times.

Dawn of the Dead (2004) remake is one of my favorites.

Nothing beats the 80s though for cheesy classic horror.

I'd like to suggest something, but every horror film that I've seen for many years has been absolute garbage. They're nothing but stupid movies that randomly insert loud noises just to startle you. Fuck, since when did horror movies have the same effect as someone yelling "SURPRISE!" at a birthday party? :|

it's basically a satire of the horror genre.

How did you watch it expecting anything but this? You really ought to look up movies more before you watch them because I definitely went into The Cabin in the Woods knowing it wasn't really much of a horror film. :\

Sinister and The Woman in Black are two in the last couple/few years that actually creeped me out.

Ugh, The Woman in Black was awful. It felt like more of a suspense film than a horror film. I'm sorry, but walking behind Harry Potter with a camera is not scary. :|

Grace - more creepy than scary, but good enough.
The Ruins

Any horror movie is subjective. I don't particularly find any movies scary these days. Nothing like The Exorcist, Alien, The Thing, Poltergeist these days. Probably the getting older, or humanity getting smarter about such things, but I still enjoy watching them.

Oh I see. I understand Swedish anyways, but is the remake the same? I know that's a stupid question lol, but some remakes are totally different. Just saying 🙂 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1228987/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1
if not, then I guess I download it 🙂

Plus, Chloe Moretz is a good teen actor. But I doubt shes better than Lina Leandersson. Her acting was superb! 😛

The remake is not "the same"--it's both different and similar enough but still very good.

...You've got enough positive opinions from the few people in here that actually watch movies with a discerning eye. You should give it a shot, it's very good.

ignore the idiots.

😀

Yup, no one makes these kind of horror flicks anymore. Truly sad. Some people think Alien is SciFi more than Horror...sigh 🙁 (Same with T1--fools!)

OP: check out Rosemary's Baby. Probably, still, my favorite horror flick, next to Alien or Exorcist.

Also...Jacob's Ladder.

Let Me In is nowhere as good. Sorry. People around the world prove that. Just because you don't like the bed scene in Let The Right One In gives you no right to say it is worst.

I never said that, you fucking illiterate idiot.

go troll in some other sewer.

the original is better, by far--where the fuck did you inject this interpretation into what everyone else has sad?

I disagree there is plenty of these horrors still. You just got to look for them.

At least I know how to find all the great horror films.

The only thing that you know how to find, is an ash-laced hole in the ground, with which to insert your rancid cock.

....because you fuck dirt, you see.

(that is the point of the insult. let's work on this one, shall we?)
