If you watch movie for the f---king CGI battle scene, then Troy would be your movie. If you want to look at it this way LOTR> all

Where did Literati go?

Coincidently, I just watched it last night for the first time, too. Guess I'd give it four out of five stars. I don't really care for that genre, but my wife wanted to see it. It kept my interest from start to finish, so that's a plus.

Haven't seen Troy yet. That me be another long while...

Gladiator was good, Troy was nothing special and King Arthur was complete trash.

Dictionary time.

Look up "Antihero".

Russell Crowe's character is the hero.

Comodus would be the antihero.

But they're all good.

agree

And for that other guy up there...

Castaway? that movie sucked too

What ignorance, no wonder you didn't know my screen name, did you even read my post? I never said that Cast Away was even a good movie, I just said Hanks acted his ass off in it and did a much better job then Crowe that year. I thought "Traffik" was better then Gladiator and I dare you to say that movie sucked. Consequently, I did think Gladiator was better then Cast Away.. so next time get your facts straight and at least quote my post, guy.

Your outnumbered here, I don't think I've met a single person on or offline besides you who actually liked Troy. One of the posters here said the only good thing about it was Eric Bana's performance, and he's right, Bana was good, but the movie sucked arse. It didn't explain anything, hell, it didn't even tell you why Achilles was such a great warrior or why it was his heal that was his weakness. The movie was terrible. Go look up the ratings on yahoo movies, the critics agree, everyone here agrees, there's no way you're going to convince anyone that Troy was even remotely close to Gladiator.

It's heel :p

it was awesome:) i saw it in the theater, everything meshes. and ugh, troy isn't even on the same planet..troy was bad in every single way possible, from horrible acting, dialog, pointless looking boring battles. even the music was horrible.

i'd say gladiator more or less was equal to braveheart. troy is more or less equal to alexander;) or ugh that other schlock king arthur.

it explains everything, you just need to pay attention to the narrator. basically he's saying that normal things can become legend due to circumstances and time. the movie portrayed Achilles as a great fighter, as a confidant fighter. in the end he was killed by getting shot with arrows. he got nailed in the heel first, which obviously hurts a lot (iirc he pulled the arrow out of his chest before he hugged the girl goodbye). when his teammates came in, they saw him dead on the floor...with an arrow in his heel. they therefore thought that his weakness was his heel because that's all they saw, thus "Achille's Heel".

A lot of historical inaccuracies by the way if you are a historical nut, this might drive you crazy.

Braveheart for the win!

Too bad mel gibson was pregnant and had bitch tits in the movie.

Troy better than Gladiator? Sure, if the image of a buff Brad Pitt in a short leather skirt gets you off. Troy was a complete suckfest with plot holes you could drive a hummer through. Gladiatior was just a damn good movie.

"I just wanted you to know, that I will be doing what you probably would like to be able to do yourselves if you could, but can't, so you won't, but I can and will... wait... what? "

I read this four times and still can not figure out what he\she is trying to communicate.

the thing about troy that sucked was, that you knew Hector, the best character and actor in the film, was going do die.

achilles was a whiny b1tch.
