I liked it!I don't get what was so bad about Troy, I enjoyed it. I loved Gladiator as well. It is possible to like them both, it isn't a competition.

I watched both movies and I have to say Gladiator > Troy. Gladiator has better acting, story, dialogs. The only thing Troy is better is the battle scences and special effects (love the 10,000 ships sailing scence).
Troy is not a bad movie, it is decent but not as good as Gladiator. BTW, great soundtrack from Gladiator too.
OP, why don't you watch them both and then you can tell which one of us is correct.

I agree Troy needed better story telling. To me, the movie gave the impression the war was over in like two days, when in reality it took ten years. Now with the constraints of a film in mind, I still think they could have done a more accurate rendition in terms of the scale of time. And Brad Pitt flashing his smile and newfound muscles do not = great warrior. His little "special move" failed to inspire either. They could have done better portraying Achilles as a fearsome warrior as described in the Iliad.
Gladiator is one of the worst movies i've ever seen. Serious utter crap. Generally i hate Ridley Scott. He's become too american, Blade Runner and Alien are the only movies he made i'd ever consider watching. And kingdom of heaven looks like soooo much shit. I'd rater sit through schwarzeneggers "commando" than watch that piece of shit!

Lots (if not most) of movies have mistakes similar to that. Just go to IMDB and look them up. Troy even has a ton.

Gladiator wasn't the greatest movie, but it wasn't the worst... I suggest that Hump Solo kill himself. ASAP.

Top 5 on my most over-rated movies list. It was just so-so if you ask me, I wasn't moved nor impressed by it and think movies like Ben-Hur and Spaticus were better by 10 fold. I thought Traffik was better that year too, and Hanks got robbed of his 3-peat by Crowe, Hanks went all out for his Cast Away part getting fat and chit then having to lose all the weight, and he was on the screen for the whole movie, but whatever the Oscars are a joke. e.g.: Shakespear in Love over Saving Private Ryan.
