My RAM's crapping out on me after 175 FSB, so i'm into multipliers now.

I've had it at 1.93GHz for 8hrs, stock voltage, FOP heatsink (who remembers those ;)) and 92mm quiet fan, 40C

It should reach 2Ghz quite easily, just not sure with how much voltage.

Confused

why don't you try the 5-second mod

nForce2 board = unlocked all multipliers! See my post 1 up from this one ;):)

Been running this for about 2hrs now, not crashed yet :)

Be sure to stress test with Prime95, or Prime95 and SETI split 50/50 if you can't sacrifice a few hours worth of time, to make sure that it's stable (you wouldn't want it to lock up at midnight and loose 5 or 6 hours of SETI crunching!). :Q

Anyway, I'm curious, what HSF combo are you using, how many case fans do you have, and what kind of temperatures are you seeing? It makes me slightly upset that I can't get above 2GHz at this time, and I'm wondering if it's just my chip or if there's some other optimization that I could do to make it overclock better. :)

if you've hit a wall, you've hit a wall.

my first 1700+ i got... i was mad because i couldn't get over the 2.0 ghz... (1950 to be exact)... i tried new PSU's... new HSF... nothing worked...

i'm pretty sure (assumming you have decent cooling and psu) that you have hit a wall in your overclock... don't waste money like i did buying all this extra junk... trust me...

I'm running Seventeen or Bust, which is based on the Prime95 core. It gives me an Internal Computation Error (from now on known as ICE) when at 1.7V (even at 2Ghz) after about 10 mins, but it's been 4hrs now at 1.75V, and not come up with an ICE, so I'm happy with it so long as it runs that fine.

My XP1800+ would fail P95 even at 1900+ levels, but would run all the way up to 2100+ levels with no instability in the program I run, so it was fine for me! :)

Cooling is a FOP32-1 heatsink, with a quiet Adda 92mm fan. No case cooling...no case...it's just on the removable motherboard tray open to the room :) Pics here

Ok, here's something to shoot for, people! A JIUHB 0302 is reported to have run at 2.5, and folding at 2.43 for over 24 hours at 2.15V in another forum...

Would you take voltage that high???

Hell no! Although I don't doubt the authenticity of that report, given the voltage and such, I'd imagine some elaborate water cooling would be necessary. Additionally, since I'd like my processor to last more than a few months, I think I'll stick with 2GHz from my XP1700+ and be happy. :Q

The guy who posted that speed ( it had a WUPIZ shot, too) has already toasted a 2100 by overvoltage......

I'm also very content with my speed of 2084Mhz. My processor "feels" like it has more to give, but I'd rather be cruising at 1.65V and have the chip last! I was happy to break the 2Ghz barrier, and all my apps run at instantaneous speeds without a hitch....

Ditto. I'm thinking about going up to 2084. Currently running at 2000.

Tell you the truth i would normally not even overclock, but the opportunity to go from a 1700+ to a 2400+ was just too tempting!

Ordered a 1700+ from newegg around the end of January and got a JUIHB 0302. Decided to upgrade to a Epox 8RDA+, installed a Vantec Iceberg on the NB and Corsair XMS3200. Finally got everything installed last week.

With everything default, I was able to run 10x200. I upped the multiplier to 10.5 and restarted at 190FSB. The first time I tried 10.5x200, I blue screened. After uping the vcore to 1.72, I've been able to bring her up to 2100 (10.5x200FSB). For now I'm satisfied with my results.

Using a AX-7 heatsink, MBM shows temps of 34C idle and 38C load. Ran Prime95 for 6 hours and then together with 3Dmark2001 - everything seems stable! This is the best I've ever done overclocking a chip.

;)

I guess I have a dud as far as T-bred/B's go. Though I bought it used off the forums is probably why. But for me it was cheap. Doing 1.9gig @ 1.775v, can't drop voltage or I loose it, tried 2gig but no way. Oh well, paid $3 more for this than what I sold my old processor for and got an extra 230MHz over what I had. Life is good.

I've got an 8RDA+ on the way for some lucky person and I ordered a 92mm fan for it planned on putting the slk 900 on it but I just realized that the heatsink would be going into the Power supply...... oh well what's an extra fan lying around for. Guess I will just throw a slk 800A in it

Alright here is my new Power Supply If anybody can tell me if this is decent or good or not that would be good!

Voltage Current Frequency
115/230V 8A/4A 60/50Hz
+3.3V +5V +12V -12V -5V +5VSB
28A 30A 15A 0.8A 0.3A 2A
200W
330W Combined 9.6W 1.5W 10W

It's a 350Watt Power Supply that came with one of my cases.

It's an Allied Power Supply Comes with the FoxConn Supercase/Allied case TU-124 I haven't used one yet I hope the fan isn't loud so i have to mod it. I hope the 3 pin case fan in it isn't loud too. Anyways going to throw that 8RDA+ in it once it arrives and the Bbred and OC to 2600+. I looked over the SLK900 again I think it actually will fit perfectly with maybe a mm or two of space. Although it might not if not I can use it on another system I make and that 92mm Vantec Stealth that I though was extra will fit on the rear of the case if not. Cross his fingers..............

I've got an XP1700 Tbred running on an Asus A7V266-E ,atm its at 12.5x152MHz & I can't go higher unless I set CAS 2.5 which I don't want to do.

Is there anyway of getting higher multipliers from this chip? (I know with XP2400 upwards you can enable lower multipliers ,is their anyway of doing the reverse on the lower clocked chips?)

How do you know a Tbred A from a Tbred B?

Btw if the info is already in this thread then lmk where please ,I don't have time to read through this massive thread!:Q:p

JIUHB 0302WPMW (or something very close - my eyes arent awake yet!!!)

what are these like to clock on an 8rga+ board???

LOOK at the coding on the chip...

If its a B, the first line of the code should read: AXDA1700DUT3C
the second line should start with JIUHB or JIUCB

APHEX From you have a good CPU there I got mine to 2088MHz so you should be able to get yours around there give or take some and that's with a decent cooler.
