If I'm doing 120mph down the interstate it's the asshole in the semi doing 70mph that I cut off and then causes an accident who is at fault?

OK, so let's allow pedestrians on highways and make speed limit 15mph.
The issue is mixing bike and pedestrian traffic is stupid. It's like riding bike on sidewalk, bad idea.

To be fair, cyclists might use current road infrastructure but they damn sure don't add any significant wear and tear like cars do.

Sure, but many cyclists around my area *demand* addition of bike lanes. I'm for it, but I'm also for them helping to pay for the addition of these lanes where possible.

Question: When there is a wide open sidewalk why the hell do some cyclists insist on riding on the side of the road a few short feet from my mirror as I pass them at 5 times their speed?

Do you really want a cyclist doing 20MPH or more right next to pedestrians? This is the reason I originally came in here saying I support a requirement that all bikes to be used on a main road (all roads in WA are called "highways" actually...) must have tabs and a license plate. Riding without tabs would constitute a moving violation and they would need to have their bikes moved home for them. I'd support an exemption for kids under 16 or something. Bikes *DO NOT* belong on sidewalks - unless the rider has dismounted and is walking the bike along. They also DO NOT belong on roads where the limit is 45-50MPH and there is no bike lane.

Use the costs obtained from the cost of the tabs to pay for adding bike lanes on roads - lanes that a cyclist is forced to use when present.

So basically you're on of the asshole cyclists I complained about in an earlier post. "I'M BETTER THAN YOU MOVE OUT OF MY WAY DAMMIT!"

The trail is there for use by EVERYONE. Slow cyclists (even unicyclists), pedestrians, kids and whatever else. Obey the rules of the trail or get the fuck off the trail.

That's just stupid. Kids should not be on bike trail, they can be killed by a biker going the 15mph limit. Or even a fat biker going 12mph.
