However some testing done in house produced some changes to the design (notably the duct system picture was changed because the 120mm fans worked better then we thought, and the whole duct was not needed). This then required changes to the manual, box etc etc etc.

As it stands the ballpark date (ie not firm) is late May/June.

If they really removed that duct (which is good thing) then I suppose that price should go little bit down? Rigth?

Not Rigth. It just means their margins got a little better.

Cooler Master is not a case manufacture, nor is Antec. They are marketing organizations which work with contract production houses to develop products to be sold under their name.

For example, the Antec SLK family is based around a CompuCase chassis; Antec works with the manufacture to tailor the specifications, appearance and packaging. Cooler Master uses ATCS-TEC to build their cases; Tom?s Hardware has covered this connection in their case reviews. Check the following link for more info.
Toms info on ATCS-TEC

Who manufactures Antec's TruePower 2.0 PSU's?

I checked Channel Well's web site, it looks that Channel Well really makes Antec PSU's:

By the way, do somebody know who actually manufactures Antec Sonata II chassis?

Is that chassis already available under some other brand name?

I'm not sure about the Sonata I or II but a lot of the Antec chassis are made by Compucase/HEC (3000/3700) and Chen Ming (8xx/1xxx series).

So this means when I build my system in August, the P-160 will be cheap so I don'
to shell o ut $100+ for a case and another $90 for an Antec PSU... I seriously want to cut my case/PSU expenses =/

Dude! Read the darn thread!!

Here's Antec's comment on the P180 release from about two weeks ago:

I have a sneaking suspicion that whenever it's actually released, that info will be posted in this thread in short order. Be patient.

I'd look for another windowed case then; like the lanboy. This x-dreamer is just too loud (imo).

Yeah, this case is classy, not so gaudy and bright with leds as say a thermaltake, which is why I really like the looks.

Hehe, I own an OVERTURE, but the first version, and the only change that was made on the new one, is that they changed an excellent PSU TruePower 380watts for a new SmartPower 2.0 450watts. Also they changed the top panel, so that the CPU fan can get more fresh air.

I was interested about the top panel, but finaly realised that there was always a lot of things on my case, so that won't change a thing. I finaly got the new Antec blower, Vcool, at low speed, it's doing a great job, and the loud doesn't rise.

As for the Minuet II, I still don't like it! :)

P180 is a winner!!!

About the Sonata II now:

Kept Piano black color = A+
New front door that open of 270 degree angle = A+++(I've broken so many doors)
Added Duct = not a bad idea
New 120mm 3-speeds fan = A+
Remove of the Antec drilled on side panels = A+
New front panel bottom = A+

Questions about Sonate II:

1- It says that we can use a 92mm CPU fan with the duct on, but what about the Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu?? This 92mm HSF isn't like the regular ones, the whole thing is 109mm by 109mm.

2- Is there a top exhaust??

3- Will it still comes with a TruePower 380watts PSU??

4- Is there a washable air filter at the front?? (I known it was anwsered, but It wasn't mentionned if it was for the Sonata II or P180)

Well that's all folks!
