Was convinced to try diff tires instead of just going wider and wider (was going to get 335/30/18) so sticking with 315s. It was between Toyo Proxes R888 vs MTs. Decided to try the MT 315s on 10.5" rim vs Nitto 315s on 9" rim that I've had. The MTs are much wider (Nitto run narrow and are the only 315 that can be bribed to mount to a 9" wheel).

As shown they were unloaded and with 50 psi from mounting. Once they are on the car, I'll let them down to 25-30 psi. Should be at least 12.5" of rubber on the ground and will make better contact with less edge buldge with the wider wheel as well. Much softer as well, I can stick my fingers into the rubber with ease.

If this doesn't do, the hell with it, I'm just getting a Evo or STI. 😀

I loved 335's on my Vette, though I could spin them easily with only 436hp. I would love to try a set of the MT in 305's for the V, but I need to get a second set of rear rims first.

Except when that Kenne Bell comes back to bitch slap you after the 60'. Or maybe half track depending on the phase of the moon and whether its 81 degs or 82 degs out that day 😀 Thats the main problem, just inconsistent. Some days you step on it expecting it to spin for the 100th time and you're caught off guard when the front end lifts and it actually hooked.

if the the quarter is all you are about, then yes. But for an overall, quarter mile, street, autoX, road course, it's hard to best the evo.

My RWD car makes mid 500's to the rear wheels. Sure it's fun, but not unless conditions are perfect. if it's under 60 degrees, forget about it.... that same inconsistency you speak of.

Then you hop in the evo... rain, snow, sleet; it doesn't matter. hammer the gas and go. No feathering into it, no wheel spin, just GO
