This is the 3rd time our company has given the Athlon Platform a try over a period of 6 months

I would fire you all!

I might be an Intel junky but I do not flame AMD... well ok maybe I hated the K5-6 line but the Athlon is an awesome processor, Just might build one someday! But until then my signature system is my baby!

Sorry if i offended u with my outlandish statement. I was only taking the micky (not to be taken seriously) ;) Find it kinda hard not to when i read threads like this with no further details/explanation to back up their problems and allow the likes of the good people on this message board to try and help out.

Its a bit like me saying "My Geforce2 MX is crap because...." without first seeking help from u guys.

One thing that has had me wondering for a while though is that problems may have arisen due to the manufacturers of the other components in our systems not taking AMD/Via compatibility seriously enough? hmmm? :(
This i was thinking due to the ATI video cards being able to do STR with the KT7 but cards like my Herc' GF2 MX not :(
Am thinking at the moment that it may be the bios of the video card thats causing the problem.
When Zoiha's web site has some reference bios's up for the MX im going to try them to see if this may solve the problem.
It really bugs me when card manufacturers dont spend the time to make sure theyre devices comply entirely with the current ACPI standard etc. If they did then there shouldnt be such a problem yeah?

Its a bit like nVidia making all their drivers hunky dorey with an Intel based system only to follow it up later with a revision specifically aimed at AMD users. More Intel than AMD/Via based systems in the market place springs to mind. Aiming their resources at the majority.

Just curious RedDawn - Im sure u have tried this already but how did the systems behave with just a video card in there?
Did you notice any difference in the motherboards behaviour with different bioses and settings? What did you conclude from all this? Ur experiences may help others to avoid a bad purchase :)
Any chance of u posting the rigs specs and setup settings?
Be kinda nice to see if anyone else with ur kind of setups have had same problems and maybe better still found a solution :D
