The Jewish/Palestinian issue most certainly doesn't boil down to that. It was Jewish terrorism after WW2 that weakened Britain's hold of the Palestinian territory and led to a Jewish state while the Palestinians were left with nothing. Obviously since nothing has changed their plight since then...they are still bitter. And Israel can't stop settlement building or even just promise to freeze settlement building on what is supposed to be part of Palestinian territory? So much for even paying lip-service to the Palestinians ever seeing a "Palestine" with the farce that is negotiations with Israel. I'd be pissed off too....Israel is no saint and breeds Palestinian resentment. It's no surprise some Palestinians have become upset enough to join a militant organization such as Hamas.

the current conflict (as of this month) started on Nov. 8th when the IOF shot dead a 13 year old boy (Hamid Younis Abu Daqqa). Gaza is the world's biggest open prison.

We're clearly getting less out of it than we're putting in. It just doesn't make strategic sense anymore. Don't know about you Canucks, but we lost two big buildings, had numerous diplomats harassed and killed, and gotten in three wars. We have no business in the region unless we're willing to go in as conquerers. Kill them all, and take their shit, or stay out.
