Well, it actually started with Israel shooting a rocket and blowing up a vehicle with a Hamas Military Leader inside, however, no innocents were hurt from it.

Some of the areas that Hamas is launching rockets at are places where I've actually eaten at and hopefully no American tourist get hurt. The US Embassy is also in that area.

The US Embassy is actually flanked by bars/restaurants. I remember drinking outside right next to it one night and all of a sudden we see a swarm of US soldiers coming out to guard it, we got the fuck out of there asap.

Gaza has been launching rockets at Israel every day.
Israel just does not respond back all the time.
When they do, then people start to feel sorry for them; ignoring the fact that Israel exercised restraint before slapping back. those fools feel that Israel should sit back and take it.

Israel isn't going to accomplish anything in Gaza, except cause it further isolation. It will also probably put the kybosh on a regional response to syria, as Israel killing arabs is a bigger deal to muslim leaders than arabs killing arabs.

The fucked up thing is that Israels actions against fatah were extremely important in the development of Hamas, and Israel's actions against Hamas has strengthened both Hamas and 'Islamic Jihad' which is even crazier than Hamas.

The problem with israel is that it was created by socialists who respected human rights and didn't believe in the traditional colonial technique of getting rid of or enslaving the ingenious people. If there was actually a zionist plot with the european powers, then they would have just transferred the palestinians to lebonon, egypt, syriah, and jordan and created more defensible borders. The problem going forward is that whereas the Israel of 1948 was a socialist democracy that believed in human rights, it's pretty clear that the ruling majority is a conservative coalition that no longer views palestinians as humans.
