This thread has been an example of that. We have the originator fanatically stating his disbelief, trying to convince everyone but mostly himself. I think that he is protesting too loudly to have the confidence in his position that he wishes us to think he has. On the other side, and also an example of the quotation, we have our very own modern day Pharisee who seems far more concerned with the conventions of his particular sect (maintaining the Jewish tradition of not writing out the Lord's name in full, using esoteric spellings for the name of the Son) than with establishing a working relationship between himself and his Creator.
As to the argument of being a witness and proclaiming faith to unbelievers, remember that faith proclaimed in the wrong manner or at the wrong time is perhaps more destructive than faith not proclaimed at all. Imagine a witness in a court trial. He must wait his turn and present his testimony at the proper place or else he jeopardises everything. We are not called to shout or faith to everyone, not to act superior because salvation is not through our own works. We are called to follow God and to do so quietly and reverently, helping those who come to us with honest doubts and living a life that is as close as we can come to His example.
Flyermax2k3, I want to believe that your intentions were good, but the unfortunate fact remains that your attitude in this thread has done much to turn people away from Him. The greatest obstacle in bringing people to Christ is the church itself. There is a natural human aversion to self-rightousness and all too often it is self-rightousness rather than love that the church generates.

Thank you for the concern but as I have stated several times on these forums, I don't do my evangelizing over teh intarweb, I do it in person. I'm simply expressing my opinion on these forums. I highly doubt any of these people were turned off to the Messiah by me (although I'm sure someone will say they were just to be a jerk), they came into this thread (and others) with the same attitude of hate and mockery and I have in no way influenced this other than to debate this foolishness.
