Actually the military does well. It's the politicians who get involved and create policies that cannot be effectively carried out. Sort of what many want with health care.

I suggest the Taliban wouldn't last a day in those circumstances.

Wow, discriminate much, do you? Certainly height is important in the real world, I mean, Napoleon never did anything important, now did he?

Are you a racist too, or just a sexist? Either way, it's disgusting.

It's generally accepted among historians that Napolean was of an average height for his day (5'7") and that the idea that he was unusually short comes as a result of: 1) a misunderstanding of the french phrase, "le petit caporal," which referred not to his height but to his warm relationship with his fellow soldiers; and 2) British propaganda that pounced on this misunderstanding in an effort to diminish him (literally and figuratively).

I stand corrected. I guess I should have picked a better person.

But in general, my point stands to the OP. What does height have to do with anything?

Height might not matter, but strength certainly does. One of the main reasons that modern ships are staffed so near nineteenth century levels is to provide damage control parties, where strength may mean the difference between a trapped sailor being rescued or burning to death. Another is to provide manual replacements for failed automated systems. How long would you judge that lovely little lady could manhandle 100+ lb 5" shells? How much help would she be in maneuvering torpedoes or depth charges? Our rush to ensure that all women, not just the physically exceptional, can qualify for all positions has led us to gut our military's standards.

Lemon Law betrays one big though usually unspoken reason behind this - the desire to reduce the US military to a less efficient organization concerns less with controlled destruction and more with empathy. The historical occasions where empathy determined the winner escape me, but it fits well in the progressives' overall plan to weaken and ultimately remake America.

But the OP is bashing on someone's height, not what they can benchpress.

The question of what women in the military can/should do is a whole different discussion, the OP is just blindly bashing a woman for being short. The OP is an idiot, and a sexist to boot.
