I almost can't believe this is real. Not only are the rightwingers no longer standing up for the right to defend yourself against the government using your 2nd amendment rights, they're even in favor of the National Guard killing protesters. What kind of parallel world do we live in?

"So at the moment anyway, I mean I don't know what's going to happen in New York today, but at the moment I'm not really worried of a movement like SDS which really swept a lot of the college campuses taking over. Of course if it does, just remember the lesson from my book: it just took a few shootings at Kent State to shut that down for good."

"There was the shooting at Kent State and gosh, I know, liberals don't like it and you look on Nexis and oh, the whole country was embarrassed. We'll I'm not embarrassed. That's what you do with a mob."

she is 'Demonic'.

The new form of debate : Refuse to acknowledge what somebody says is correct and instead bring up something you think they should be defending.

The word conservative has been hijacked by crazy people looking to preserve their own life style and money. They use this political image to push for harming those they hate and loath.

Wow. I never thought I'd actually hear a conservative talk about Kent State as a positive point in history. I know some have talked in a manner where I'd think they would support it, but I never imagined I'd hear them say it. This woman is seriously one of the most horrible people to ever exist in this country. Anyone who listens to her and thinks of her as anything but a wretched monster needs to do some serious soul searching.

What a fucking wise and beautiful woman Ann Coulter is.

I used to follow Ann Coulter on Twitter because I figure it's useful to know what crazy people (or those pretending to be crazy for $) are talking about. Recently unfollowed her when I came to the realization that she's a complete has been.

A has been lunatic - I don't think a person can sink any lower than that. Bravo, Ms. Coulter!

cybr, you did not need to tell all of us you reported someone.

We all know that people have also lodged things against you. This had nothing to do with you personally. Voice your objection and silently hit the "!" button. We really do not need to know you did it.

This language is inappropriate anywhere, let alone here. Reported.

I agree,

We should instead refer to him/her as A*** C******

Censor her name out, as it's offensive to humanity.

So, A*** C****** is a .....

Much less offensive!

actually, I consider myself left/liberal whatever, but I do pay attention to Ann Coulter. She actually makes good points underneath all of the shit talk. And she's perfect for cable news, in a way I think some sort of complex meta-parody of the seriousness of some of them.

she's also hot.

I agree, but I find her flashy rather than hot. She has very poor muscle tone. But you're dead-on about her (intentionally) being a meta-parody of the seriousness of most talking heads. That also prevents her from making much headway in conversion, but it also gives her a good living.

There's been a lot of "discussion" of whether she's a good or awful person, but I'm amused that no one has talked about the analytical problem with her statement.

Kent State was a disaster for the US government and led to the largest protests in American history. Kent State was closed for six weeks. Several million students shut down nearly every school in the country for an extended period. World opinion turned further against the American role in SE Asia, which was exactly the goal of the protesters who were shot in the first place.

They lost by getting shot. The government lost by giving the protesters exactly the kind of publicity the national guard was trying to suppress. The bystanders who were shot while walking by the protesters lost. Kent State wasn't good in anyone's perspective.

Until now. Maybe it was all worth it if Coulter can leverage it into a dozen extra book sales.

Throck, were you this outraged when Kanjorski called for the execution-style shooting of Republican Governor Rick Scott?

Or the Tea Party zombie game where you can shoot Conservative leaders?

Or when Mass Dem Capuano called for blood in the streets when talking to Union reps?

oops, no, you didn't, sorry for asking.

The problem with Ann Coulter is that she's an ultrareactionist ultrapartisan who isn't firmly planted in reality. Anyone who is even slightly liberal is wrong in her eyes. She'd roll back civil rights just so Democrats couldn't get votes. I actually saw her "debate" with Janet Reno when I was in college--I put debate in quotes because it was more about her grandstanding her views while Reno only said what she felt worthwhile. Coulter says things to start controversy, and maybe she believes some/all of what she says. It might be good entertainment for some but ultimately not helpful to anyone.

Never heard of any of those. Just like I never heard of this until I happened to read it because it was a related article on some website.

I only support violence in self defense.
