I just decided to start messing with my Moto Droid tonight, I have a simple but stupid question that has me stumped. I downloaded both the time and the battery widget, but I can't get them to show on the same line. If I drag the battery to the right corner it defaults to the middle. If I try to put the time one on the same line as the battery it drops it down. I know this is something super basic but I can't get the shit. I bought Launcherpro Plus, I don't see any option for this in the settings. If there's another app I need to buy/download what it is?

With the battery widget, I think you're selecting the 4x1 option. Choose the medium one, that should be the same size as the clock widget.

I change something at least every 24 hours. If not background, then maybe theme. If not theme, maybe screen layout. I get bored very easy. Changing your background every 24 isn't that crazy. There are even apps that do it for you.

Matter of fact...there is a LWP that has pictures of storms. I think I'm going to fire that up now!

Oh changing wallpaper is no biggie, but then it takes me a while to find one I like. If I can miraculously find 100 of them I like, that'd be cool. A nice pack.

But changing LP dock icons is more work. I'd get tired of changing that after 2-3 times.

Messing around after being inspired by a homescreen in that XDA thread, I think I need to make some tweaks to the icons to get them spaced a little better.

Rooting is the first thing I do when I get a new Android phone. I am currently running FreshRom 3.2 but occasionally switch to Cyanogen for a change up.

question, have you tried Simply Stunning? There are like a thousand different roms out there and I dunno which to use. So I put SS 4.7 on mine. Another question is it painless to switch between roms?

Relatively painless, just backup your texts and apps. I liked SS, i just occasionaly had a problem with my phone powering off. Currently on liquid myself. If bugless ever comes out with an update, that'd be the one to try.

question, is there a way to change the color of the notification bubbles for your dock icons? a big red circle telling me I have 20 new emails is clashing with my color scheme. I Googled this and as usual my Googling sucks and I found nothing even remotely helpful. And anyone who posted a pic with transparent bluetooth/wifi etc icons, are you using SwitchPro? I bought it and am not seeing the option for setting custom icons.

Depending, some people might be using a themed rom where the stock power switch is transparent or glossy or whatever.

It looks like the ability to change the colors is a requested feature, so may have to wait a bit.

Are most of these shown done with just Launcher Pro or are they rooted?

Just got my Droid X and don't want to buy Launcher Pro if I'll need to root it to do all the cool stuff anyway.

LauncherPro is free. Just need the pay version for the widgets and some additional functionality. I have the free version on my phone.

You could probably duplicate most of these homescreens with an unrooted phone.

To be honest, mine has been rooted for so long, I no longer really remember which things require root (fonts, custom notification bars, and stuff like that) and which do not (icons, alternate launchers).

The vast majority doesn't require rooting. Mine is completely a different UI and I'm not rooted.

Nice job.

I prefer either all dark or all light colors. I'm basically color blind, so I need the contrast to be able to see what I'm doing on the fly.

Since I have a contrast setup going as well, I am going to see about what I could do to it.

here is my current setup.

Posting this, because I want to improve the look of the folder and the audio manager widget, so any ideas are welcome.

I have yet another question, on my power control the flashlight is sort of weak, I downloaded an app from the Marketplace called TeslaLED which is super bright, is there any way to link this to my power control icon? I'm running SwitchPro but it doesn't have an option for changing what the icons launch.

I don't know that there is an easy way to do it, but I would email the dev. Depending on how responsive they are, maybe the option will appear in the next update.

if only launcher pro supported gestures to hide/show the notification bar, i'd switch.

I go back and forth. But I think I prefer the ability to add shortcuts via swipe on LauncherPro.

I swipe up on my app tray shortcut to open notifications.
