How is Dice Player? Say, compared to WMP or iTunes on Windows 7. I need something to play .MKV and .FLV files.
P.S. Did not know that VLC is available on Android. How good is it, anyone with experience? I am not a big fan of VLC on Windows, though.
VLC on Android is very, very beta. It works, but as far as I can tell doesn't make good use of hardware acceleration with Tegra 3, so HD files may stutter or break up at times. Plus, it's not as full-featured as Dice Player (with the DTS plugin).
I was just using it a bit because Dice Player wasn't working with 4.2... but then just a few hours later Dice Player was updated.
BTW, one feature I really like with Dice Player is the audio-sync setting. Usually you don't need it, but when you do, you can put it ahead or behind the video as needed. The app comes with gesture support on by default, but I just turn it off because I inadvertently use the gestures too often. ie. It's very configurable. And there is even an overlay function, where you can play video in a window on top of Android, although that'd be more useful on something like a Nexus 10.
I just hope Dice Player works equally as well on the Nexus 4, once I'm able to actually get one in my hands.
