Android 4.2 - Who's Updated?

There is a bench tool in an app that i bought today (ROM Toolbox Pro) but I got it after the 4.2 update so I can't compare. It's a very quick test, and it says 31.234 MFlop/s @1300 MHz for my Nexus 7. (Linpack?)

I'd like to thank those who suggested DicePlayer, btw. It's just what doctor ordered, and I am impressed. It's almost like MPC-HC on Windows! I threw almost all commercial/web stuff on it and DicePlayer handled everything admirably. Only thing I did not test was those foreign/user-made clips with unusual bitrates/FPS (and real high bitrate (~50 Mbps) raw Blu-Ray files (.m2ts). Everything else just flew.

I don't mean to start yet another Apple bashing, but the difference in user experience is stark for things like this.

May I please ask what you use for .doc viewing? The built in ThinkFree Write is incredibly slow, and swiping produces garbled text at the top of the screen.

What are the options for going back to 4.1.2 from 4.2 ? My N7 is bone stock.

I assume I could do a factory reset which would make it 4.1.1 again ? If that's true would it do an OTA to 4.1.2 before it did an OTA to 4.2, or just go directly to 4.2 ?

If the latter, is there an official site to download 4.1.2 and manually update somehow ?

Or is there an easier way to get back to 4.1.2 without having to reinstall all my apps ?

btw, I don't mind 4.2 but for now I need HBO Go more than I need 4.2

No, factory reset just wipes the /data and other user partitions. It does NOT revert /system (the firmware).

Are you running rooted? Doh, guess not...
Use the toolkit here to flash stock 4.1.2.

The built-in documents viewer in Nexus 7 is really slow for .doc or .xls (though text rendering is excellent) and eventually I will have to get one of the office apps. For now, I just convert a .doc file to .pdf using Skydrive/Google Docs. There are settings that let you automatically print to .pdf when uploading .docs, which you can view (using PDF viewer) or locally store on Nexus 7.

Alternatively Google Docs has an option to automatically convert a .doc file to its own format when uploaded, then it can be downloaded to be available off-line. (for viewing only. I don't believe you can edit it off-line without a 3rd party app)

HBO GO has been updated today.

Is there any way to "bookmark" or "wishlist" an app in Google Play page on a browser? Desktop PC browser, I mean.

jellybean! wow!

this operating system is bringing new life into all sorts of android phones! for some reasons, they figured out how to make android much more compatible and much much faster/smoother.

droid x2 is a good example. it didnt even get many custom gingerbread roms, and ics was a weak outlook at best. it never ran that great. but jellybean? its as good as the stock rom, but much MUCH faster. i suspect the $70 price for this phone used is going to go back up. right now, its the best value jellybean capable phone hands down. even gtaIII runs perfect!

and my htc sensation- they just got jellybean working a couple months ago and its already reached maturity. mhl is really the only thing missing, and its looking like that will be working soon. i am just amazed how quick this phone is now too, everything is instant.

Running Samsung stock 4.2 on my GS2 now, it's fantastic. I haven't found any bugs yet, and it's waaaay smoother than AOSP.

Anybody successfully running a 4.2 rom on a verizon galaxy nexus? One with no missing features (like GPS, audio/video, camera)?

Ok so I finally got 4.2 OTA message on my stock yakju device.

When I reboot it looks like it's doing something then gives me the dead android with the red exclamation triangle.

I'm unrooted and stock.. what's going on? I'm seeing conflicting things..
