So, if I come into possession of a classified document that reveals that (say) the Gulf of Tonkin incident is a complete fabrication of the U.S. government being used as a pretext to escalate the War in Viet Nam, I'm a traitor if I send that document to the N.Y. Times and save the lives of 40,000 U.S. servicemen who would otherwise have died in a misbegotten war to prevent the "Domino" effect?

No chance of that, we're not careless with our information, there isn't one mention in those documents of our missions and we are not under the command of any of the instances whose documents have found their way into wikileaks.
