You have that backwards, my friend. The party hacks are those who voted for Trump because of the (R) behind his name. But, the problem with Trump is not that he is a Republican. The problem with Trump is that by any objective, rational standard, he is the single least suitable POTUS candidate ever nominated by a mainstream political party. Donnie is a career con-man, a cheat, a bully, a narcissist, a pathological liar, and an intellectual lightweight with the temperament of a spoiled toddler. He is also -- at best -- an unwitting stooge for one of America's most dangerous adversaries. He has no business being anywhere near the White House.

The Electoral College was intended to prevent someone like Trump from becoming President. It is responsible for stepping in when the American masses have been sucked into doing something reckless and foolish. Unfortunately, these electors failed. They failed to put America first, to stand up for what is right. They failed to uphold their constitutional responsibility. They could have voted for another Republican, any other Republican, and sent the House the message that Trump was not acceptable. Instead, they rubber stamped Donnie.

I think it's time to reconsider whether the Electoral College has any value for modern America. If it has become too partisan to fulfill its unique purpose, it is pointless overhead. Each state's electoral votes can be tallied on election night (or shortly thereafter) and a state official can certify them. There is no reason for the added expense and delay of the EC meetings.

It's so ironic that the recipient of more faithless electors was Clinton. The threats were useless. The fat man's attempts to bribe (which frankly should land him in jail) failed. And now there are rumblings that there might be legal proceedings against the Clinton faithless electors in WA state. I wonder if the fat man will pay their penalties.

Whatever, it's done. As I pointed out in a post over a month ago, it'll be interesting to see what Trump actually does vs Trump the candidate. I'll leave you with this for your viewing pleasure.. It's an MSNBC vid.

Ahh, I missed the memo that tells us truck crashes are the same as a terrorist attack.
It wasn't known to be a terrorist attack when CNN posted this story last night. That's the way legitimate journalism is supposed to work: report the facts and not a preconceived narrative. I expect propagandists like Breitbart and Daily Caller called this a terrorist attack right from the start, not because they had better information, but because it fits their anti-Muslim bigotry. Had this turned out to be just an accident, or even a terrorist attack by, for example, some German neo-Nazi nut-bag, you can bet this story would have quietly disappeared from their pages. That's how they keep their sheep misinformed. Legitimate journalists like CNN will report the full story regardless of how it plays out.

CNN has had a liberal bias for a very long time, studies done, etc to prove it. Fox goes right, CNN goes left. Not sure what planet or dimension you live on or in, but whatever works for you.
More accurately, CNN's right-wing competitors have been brainwashing you for a very long time, claiming CNN has a liberal bias. Lying to conservatives is their business model.

Hell, even the reporters that work for CNN say they're liberal biased.

I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but it's real, and just something to take into account as you're getting news.

And I guess it's not terrorism until CNN decides it's terrorism?

It's not terrorism until there's enough evidence to say so with accuracy. At least from an honest reporter's perspective.

Facts have a well known liberal bias... Or maybe it's just that libs have a well known bias towards facts.

theres an SNL video of Hillary (Kate McKinnon) asking a EC voter to switch to Tom Hanks. It was mildly amusing.

Oh, and as much as I dislike Trump, the idea of EC voters NOT doing what they're supposed to do is a very dangerous precedent and probably should not even be considered.
This, exactly.

They're supposed to protect us from having a lunatic for president which they didn't. Read the federalist papers #68.

It is pretty disturbing how much hatred of liberals seems to drive conservative thinking. They genuinely don't seem to care much about policy.

Cause and effect.

1) Crazed super-leftists (calling themselves "liberals" though they're not) do a bunch of stupid, terrible things like riot in the streets and harass / hurt anyone they think supported Trump.
2) Non-leftists expose this terrible behaviour and call it exactly that.
3) Leftists then cry, "They're just hating us for no reason!"

Switching from Bully to Victim like flicking a switch. You wonder why one of the new terms for you lot is "cry-bullies"?

Nice projection from you again, haha. You constantly switch from insulting others to whining about how you're a victim.

I do like the way you wield the alt-right lexicon. You really put the ring of truthiness in it.

You were hatin' on libs long before any of that happened. You just found a new rationalization.
