There's been a heavily reported attempt by Democrats and leftists to overturn the results of the election and have the Electors change their votes to someone else. Yes we all know that Donald Trump won the election, we also know that the opposition is still trying to do something, anything to prevent it.

No not really. There's been reports of fringe elements trying to make an argument for that but any media reporting I've seen has stated quite bluntly that it won't happen. Hell some stated would just appoint a new elector who will vote along the line. No sane person believes anything else will happen.

Oh, and as much as I dislike Trump, the idea of EC voters NOT doing what they're supposed to do is a very dangerous precedent and probably should not even be considered.

Should the EC "dump Trump" and protect us from a demagogue? I certainly hope they would. Is it likely they will do so? No, and nothing good will come of this.
 
Sane people aren't ruling anything out in an election where even some diehard conservatives objected to Trump.

Realistically? Trump will probably be confirmed. But this is one of the few years where the EC vote isn't set in stone, and we shouldn't act like it is.

I thought I'd read somewhere that legally, the results must be turned in no later than nine days after. I'm wondering if some results will be withheld just because they can.

It doesn't take much to trigger some people. There's precious little time to do a mass distribution of coloring books before the 20th but it may be worth considering.

Yup. Visit any of the many right wing sites and they aren't talking about the merits of Trumps actions or policy proposals. All I see is joy and celebration and how much they perceive that those actions will piss off liberals. No discussion of bettering the country. No thought or concern for the impact to the every day person. Just petty vindictiveness of those whose opinions they oppose.

zero to do with any of drumpfs policies, when looked at, with an analytical or critical eye, fail horribly, not just for the evil liberals, but for pretty much everyone not at drumpfs' income level.
