I'd like to join in the racing fun. Boshuter pointed me to this informal league, guess ya'll need a new scapegoat :D Ready to rock as a reserve if need be.
I won't be making any races or practices this Sunday due to Super Bowl but look forward to any following races.

I could care less about football so I'm definitely interested in running tonight...I'll look for rooms labeled GT300...if I don't see any I'll create one called GT300 335hp.

Boshuter, this is to confirm that I'd like to participate in the championship as soon as it's back on track.

I'll get you added tomorrow...... welcome aboard. :) We'll be racing Sunday, check first post for track and details. I'll update it tomorrow also.

looking forward to deep forest this weekend, one of my favorite tracks :D

LOL.... I'm glad you are, I'm not too familiar with that track, it does seem to be a lot of fun to drive though. I've had ps3 problems and network problems for the past week or so....... hasn't given me much opportunity to race, tonight was the first practice time I've had on that track.... and it wasn't pretty

Ok, 2 new racers added to list and new track info posted.

If anyone has a save of the first race, or just the finishing order, please get in touch with me. As you know, my PS3 quit right at the end of the race and I didn't get a save. If no one has it, or the finishing order, we will just have to start the points from the race this weekend and consider the first race a warmup or something... I'm open to any ideas or suggestions about this.

It wouldn't hurt for a couple of us to just save the race after it's over.. all you have to do is click on the "race results" button and you can save the entire race.

Thanks guys.... I better go practice :sneaky:

I ran for about a half hour on Tuesday just to get some practice. It is actually a fun track but I think it's easier than Laguna Seca. Looking forward to the race on Sunday. :)

Oh and about the track, there is one part of it where there is some concrete to the left side of the tarmac leading into a right turn (around turn 4)...will that be considered part of the track? You can easily gain a 0.25-0.5sec at that spot if you decide to use the concrete. I don't think the lap is invalidated if you use that according to the GT5 system but we should decide one way or another maybe.

I know the place you mean, I've tried running using that concrete and not using it and I don't think there is actually all that much difference... I say use it if you want. I'm more concerned about people coming off the last turn onto the main straight and running up in the grass on the side... that is definitely a no-no. :)

I was curious on that corner as well. Going onto the concrete definitely simplifies that corner. I would assume though the two tires on the track rule applies still. So two on the concrete two on the track is required would be my guess

I think the main thing with that corner is that if you're fully on the concrete, it sets up a better exit for the right hander, which is where time can be gained. I think we should just allow it since some people are probably going to end up using it either purposely or accidentally. If everybody is allowed to use it then it won't be an advantage (if it is in fact an advantage).

Exactly how I see it, you know it's gonna happen and it's going to be enough of a hassle policing that last turn before the main straight. :D

The more I run on this track, the more fun it is :D

I'm planning on having a room open tomorrow night (Saturday) at around 9-10pm cst. if anyone wants to come in and practice. Just go into public lobby and look for a room called "anandtech super gt 300".

Awesome.... I've hosted a lounge for a couple of us to practice, but not sure how it would work with a whole race field.

All the settings are right except for laps, it's 25 laps, not 15. This isn't a very long track and with the lap times we should still have about a 30min. race. Lets leave the penalties off, as long as the racing is pretty clean, we don't need them.

There are a few of them that are gonna be interesting, lol. I'm talking on the phone now with supersnake75, he said "I hope I don't get kicked out again" LMAO.
