Wow, that's bizarre. I read the article earlier today and for some reason the name struck a very distant cord, couldn't figure out why. Now it seems like I recognized it from here. I have very little sympathy for a murderer, however. Off yourself -- no need to have others join you.

Have you ever tried to put yourself in his shoes? You don't know how evil some kids can be. Imagine that all your peers bully you to the point that you think the world sucks and you don't even want to live anymore. You have no social life. You are demeaned to the point that you feel like you are the scum of the society. You're a creep. Add on a social disorder, like bi-polar or something of the sort. What do you think you would do when all the negative emotions take over your rationality? Suicide, and of course, take those who has made you want to suicide with you.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think what he did was right. But I could see why he did it. And that's not to say that the people who died has no blame at all. They pushed him to do it. And they pushed him too far. It's like a hot girl taunting a sad, deprived, 40yr old virgin to rape her. One day, he won't care about anything anymore, and he's just going to do it.

Ugh, what a douchebag.

edit

I have absolutely no sympathy for him because of the murder. While mental illness which leads to suicide is a serious issue and needs to be resolved asap, when you bring others into it, you lose my sympathy [as if anyone was waiting for it anyway].

What the fvck has happened to people? Does no one have respect for the dead any more? Even if you have no sympathy for him, that comment is still disrespectful to his victims. Grow up and get some fvcking respect.

Colt45 called him names =(

That's exactly what I was talking about. This board is not supportive in any way, it is just a way to test how much sh!t you can put up with. Someone should call and correct that second article. Not sure if the mods actually helped, but not finding it too likely...

Hate to say this but it's Survival of the fittest. Those who commit suicide are the weakest link....except for those Ahole attention whores that threaten to all the time. Your mother and father granted them the greatest gift of all, life. All he did was throw that away and take out two innocent people as well. Freund is nothing more than a common murderer.

I'd like to see you in real life.

Somehow I don't believe most of the nerds here could ever survive a real "survival of the fittest".
i have seen him in real life. he is far from the nerd-type and very fit.

so what of it now?

I bet you have :)

Believe me I bet you have.

:Q

And Mosh is a serious hottie as well, too bad she is a Yankee...

i PM'd the OP. he doesn't really post on AT anymore. he did, however, tell me that he determined the connection by googling for the guy.

First off, I edited my post, because I'm a nice guy. :) Secondly, I didn't mean any disrespect toward the victims. I was directing my statement toward the suicide member, THAT'S IT.

Oh I don't mind someone capturing my quote, but I edited it because some may think it was too hash. But I'd like the record to show that I'm trying, I'm trying REAL hard to be the sheppard. ;)

In one respect, yes. It can also take a lot of courage to end your own life.

I have continued reading this thread with interest because I might have fit that. It never made it past the pondering stage, I never manifested any of this in the real world - no suicide attempts, no weapons. I knew that 1) killing anyone was a totally unacceptable solution, and is in itself not acceptable, and 2) suicide is permanent. Very permanent. For some people, that's its allure, it's a final solution to their lifetime of problems and torment.

Asperger's can be very difficult to live with. You see all these other people around you interacting just fine, having fun, and so you try it. But when you do, those people taunt you, and tell you that everything you're doing is wrong. You're not talking right, not moving properly - nothing about you is right. So you're ostracized, and cast out. No matter how you try, you just don't get the hang of normal social interaction. It's like there's an unspoken conversation going on right in front of you, and you don't know the rules or what's being said. And really, there is. There are many nuances between interacting people that give clues to what they're thinking. With Asperger's, those clues are totally nonexistant. The manner in which you're interacting too, your speech for example, may indicate a very rude or stiffly superior tone to most people, but as far as you're concerned, you're just trying to mimic those around you. Unbeknownst to you though, it just falls flat.
That's a quick description, really. You try your hardest to fit in with anyone, but they make fun of you for reasons you can't really even perceive. The only information you're left with is that you're not like everyone else, and for this mysterious reason, they don't like you, and there doesn't seem to be anything you can do about it. It kind of makes you pretty damn miserable, especially when you ask for help and don't see results.

All that said, I do not condone what he did to those other people. If you are sure you want to commit suicide, I believe that should be your choice, as it is your life. It might not be a good choice, but it is still your choice to make. Taking other lives though is not acceptable.

Killing two people doesn't make him any more deserving either.

You're right, he's a murderer, but why or what pushed him isn't so clear. I believe there is a knife that cuts at the rope of an individual's sanity and good judgement. Mental illness, hate, trauma. Not everyone is capable of acting rationally given every circumstance they're put under. Some things could have been done to possibly avert this event. But nobody knows. Changing meds could have escalated his condition. All we know is what's done is done and people will collect themselves and continue on.
