The cpu arent really that hot, because then it should meltdown and the air surrounding the cpu arent even hot... believe me you'd feel if the cpu was 60-70

mine gets 74 so far with 2 sides off... above 80 with the sides on

and like yours its a winchester 90nm (3500+)

with the new hwminitor I get stable 18 in die instead of the 49 i get at idle and with the new one it doesnt matter if its idle or load - it really sux that soltek cant make a decent cpu temp monitor utility and the bios cant be fixed to show normal temp.

Thanks Skyofanten, that's what I wanted to hear, I can sleep well now. :)
I would do some more overclocking, but I need to wait until I get valid temps, and good memory, and go foward from there. For now, it is all good, and I got moderate overclocking.

Thanks :)

Good morning all!

I've been saving up the cash to build a new system with the Soltek SL-K8TPro-939 because everyone raves about Soltek in general and this mobo in specific. I just found out yesterday, however, that the board initially couldn't run at ddr400 with 4 sticks of double-sided ram. Supposedly this has been fixed with BIOS v 1.3.

So my question is....

Has anyone out there confirmed that 1.3 will allow you to run at ddr400 with 4 dimms of double-sided ram?

I know BF04 was going to test this again with the BIOS update...but he hasn't posted yet.

Thanks guys!

So far I havenot had any more memory problems with the suggestion to up the voltage to 1.6.

gl on your build, so far both mine are running flawless :)

Hi guys! My new system is up and running great! Thinking about changing the CPU cooler, just need confirmation on "Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu". Does it work with my SL-K8TPro-939 ? Official site has no info on this. Any help will be appreciated.

To LydiAtSoltek

Do Soltek has plan for a motherboard based on the new ATI radeon xpress 200 Chipset?

Thanks!

Yes, we are planning to build the M/B based on ATI Radeon XPRESS 200 (RS480).

Thanks and regards,

Just what I was waiting for. My k8an2e-gr is a great board, I always been well served by Soltek, so I'm sure they will have another winner.

Thanks for the update on the 890 Lydi! Looking forward to it.

Just found that the "Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu". is not on the 939 board list, too bad. Any other coolers good for the 939?

The (Venus 12) is the best i have found: all copper +1 heat pipe!!!! it actually keeps my 939 at 40C. The temp control comes with three setups!! u can use the automatic themal sensor, the front control knob= fits flopy drive bay, or the rear knob- pci slot in rear. $29.00 including shipping

Hi all. SL-K8tpro-939 rocks! I would like to give it more juice by buying a new PSU, any idea? I'm liking the"Thermaltake Silent PurePower 560W w/ Active PFC " , how good is this one?

And thank Zero1 4 the cooler recommendation, other people are praising Venus 12 as well. Going to get it!

Enermax rocks :) . You can also look into PC Power and Cooling, Thermaltake is also not bad. Just make sure is not a crappy brand like POWMAX and others.

@ LydiAtSoltek,
Will the next bios allow some more Memory Voltage?
I'm running Crucial Ballistix RAM 2x512Mb PC3200 DDR and it needs 2.8v default and thats all the board can do. It does not leave alot of headroom for overclocking :(
Any chance of getting 2.9 or even 3.0?

Hi X2C,
I am afraid not.
According to our R&D and BIOS engineers, it is a hardware limit not BIOS issue. Unforturnately, we don't have the plan to modify the M/B to support "DIMM Voltage Adjustment" up to [2.9V] or even [3.0V] for the time being.
Sorry!

Thanks and regards,

Hi, people!

Today I bought a Zalman CNPS7000A-Cu, it's doing a good job cooling my cpu. But the cooler's setup is scary! It will fall on my video card someday.

This appears to have become the official (unofficial) Soltek SL-K8Tpro-939 thread, so I will add.

To Lydia:
Your company really should put together a distribution front office for the U.S.A. If you could do that, and still maintain the type of admirable personal touch that you have represented for your company in this forum, then your company would do very well in the States; where a personal relationship with a company is a highly prized, but unfortunately quickly disappearing commodity. Are there any plans to open a U.S.A. distribution front office similar to what you now have in Europe (Deutschland)?

To Everyone Else:
I have ordered an SL-K8TPro-939 and A64 3500+ (Newcastle); they will arrive tomorrow. Today my HSF arrived, it?s a Zalman 7700-AlCu and if nothing else it sure is pretty. I will be stripping my current system (Albatron i865PE & P4 2.8C) for the following parts...

2x512MB OCZ Performance Series Rev2 PC-3200
Leadtek nVidia 6800
SB Audigy2 ZS
Seagate 200GB PATA
Enermax EG475P-VE PSU /470-Watt/ Dual +12V Rails 16-Amp & 15-Amp
Antec SX835II case with 4 case fans

Anyone see any possible problems to look out for with these components and the new motherboard (& CPU)??? I will report back as to revision numbers on the board and what BIOS version it shipped with, also how that giant 120mm HSF fits. The vendor is Newegg and the cost at time of purchase was $114.50 (U.S.).

Peace
James

Did you have a hard time getting the backplate off the Soltek board? How did you go about it?

Peace
James

No problem AT ALL, the backplate so easy to uninstall. That's way I am worried, 'cause the cooler is SO heavy, it might first break my MOBO, and then knock my video card into half. Other than that, there is no problem.

Should just get the Venus12 which was recommended by some1 here,no weight issue with this baby.

Hi Punkitup,
Thank you very much for the good advice.
According to our Sales Dept, we do have the plan to open a U.S.A. distribution front office in the future.

Best regards,

I just wanted to know where the option is in the bios to change/set the IOQD (Host Bus In-Order Queue Depth)
I get a warning from SiSoftware Sandra 2005 on the memory test about it saying "Warning: IOQD Set to low, performance will suffer" :(
