I ask because the maximum I saw in that post was 245. So that last set up went all the way to 250 and is prime stable?

2nd system up and running. The Soltek board came already with the updated bios that fixes the memory issue so I didnot have to update anything. Everything installed easy and fast. Actually this was the quickest build of a pc ive ever done. Everything up and running no problems.

Wifes system.

Quick question...

Where in the manual does it list the various errors?? I've got error "C1" and I can't figure out what's wrong. I have no video though, and it sounds like my computer restarts itself.

Any clues??

The updated bios doesn't fix the four-dimm memory issue. I have one right in front of me atm. With two dimms, the memory runs 400 mhz with aggressive timings no problem...put in four dimms, and the best I can get is 333 mhz, 2.5-3-3-3 2T. The Sandra memory benchmark goes from 6 GB/sec with 2 dimms down to a measly 3.7 GB/sec with four.

Hi Kabob983,
Usually "C1" means something is wrong with the mermoy modules.
Could you inform me how you allocate the RAMs on the mainboard? And what's the brand/model?

Thanks and regards,

Hi Masher,
Are you using 4 sticks of double-sided DDR400 RAMs on this mainboard? Did you try to set the memory clcok to [400MHz] by manual?

Thanks and regards,

Lydia,

I got the C1 to go away (I heard that with BIOS version 1.0, having RAM in slots 1&2 would cause an error. I removed the DIMM from slot 2 until I flash, which I cannot do at the moment.

Now I have "FF," which I heard this means all is working well. That doesn't seem possible though as I've still got no video, My AGP card seems to be installed correctly, but nothing appears on the monitor.

The RAM is 2x512MB Kingmax Hardcore PC4000
The video card (ATM) is GeForce FX 5200 128MB AGP 8x.

Any thoughts Lydia?

How was the wedding?

double check the seating of the video card and make sure that the back part has locked down. Do you even get a bios screen coming up? If board starts up with no beeps and FF it might be the monitor . Do you have another vid card to try?

Don't have another another video card ATM. Should hopefully be getting one shortly.

I don't think it's my monitor. When I take the cable out of the back of my tower, I get the "no signal" message on my monitor. When it is plugged up though, I get nothing at all...

Hi Odd29,
Thank you very much for the great support to Soltek:)
Although "250MHz" seems the ever best record of overclocking for the SL-K8TPro-939, I still think that it is possible to get the mainboard faster by differnent combination of devices.
I will let you know when someone breaks this record:)

Tnanks agian and best regards,

Hi Kabob983,
Could you just install one stick of RAM on DIMM 1 (or DIMM3) to test again?
Also you can clear CMOS data by jumper JBAT1 before booting up to make sure that the BIOS setup returns to default.

P.S. The wedding made me tired out!!! But it's unforgetable:)

Thnak and regards,

Lydia, sorry to post off topic, but I have sent numerous support requests in to Soltek via the Technical Support request page on the Soltek page. I recently sent you a PM here at AnandTech forums, also.

I'm wanting to know if Soltek is working on or is planning to work on a new BIOS for the SL-K8AN2E-GR. I have some minor issues with BIOS T1.2. Thanks for your help.

Hi Megatomic,
Could you please inform me what problems you have with the SL-K8AN2E-GR? Maybe they don't require BIOS update but other solutions.

Thanks and regards,

ok, problem solved, more problems arising:

The monitor is on, I don't know what the problem was, but I pulled the vid card and put it back in, replugged a few wires and all works well now...almost...

I flashed the BIOS to v1.2, but it will not let me get into windows. I am unsure of what the problems are, but (so far) I've seen the following errors on my LED: 75, 88, 86. It only shows my slave optic drive in the BIOS as being connected.

Here's what happens:

I turn on the computer, and it goes through a memory check (both DIMM's are in now) and then goes to the next screen. It says something about my SATA BIOS not being installed. Then it says "No device" and goes to the next screen. It says "Verifying DNI (Pool?) Data and shows a bunch of numbers. Then it takes me to a screen which says that windows encountered a problem and cannot load. It gives me the option to start in 3 different safe modes, start windows with the last known working setting (which was when I had my s754 setup) or start windows normally. Every option ends up with my computer restarting...

What should I do? Reinstall windows? Is it a hardware issue? Software issue??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks and regards,
Lydia, the temperature readouts don't work properly with system monitoring software and my chipset is not recognized as NF3-250Gb, it is seen as NF3-250 only. Both are only cosmetic but they should be fixed by now. The K8AN2E-GR has been out for many months now.

Thanks for your help! :)
