Any of you guys take Amino Acid supplements in addition to whey?

I normally take a scoop and a half of ON Gold Standard post work out, and a scoop of Casein before bed. The other day I picked up some Critical Aminos XT from MuscleTech (Vitamin Shoppe's House brand) for 50% off. Is it worth it? How much is too much?

in all honesty, probably not worth it
 
Indeed. It looks likely half the values a scoop of Whey provides, plus aminomelon, carnitine, Bromelain, and grape seed extract. All of which are suppose to be for recovery, but a few googles show some of those may or may not work on the soreness related muscle fatigue, but rather inflammation in general. It was $10 for about 50 scoops so I'm not to worried.
 
Layne Norton of BioLayne says that branched amino acids are good for about a 2% increase in muscle synthesis. If that's worth $10 bucks to you, then it's worth it.
 
Indeed. I'm already getting some though. Whey in general contains it. So I would assume adding more would be less than 2% returns.

Who knows. I bit the bullet and opened it. So at best it works and I get an additional 2%, at worst its a waste of $10 and it adds strain on my liver. 🙁
