Nothing like militant states where a power hungry head of state intimidates the peoples' representatives into endorsing BS policy. Congress does not approve wars . . . Congress is responsible for declaring war. Minor detail in that Constitution-thing . . . you know that document that no one acknowledges anymore. No justification was needed...Congress approved it and we simply enforced what the UN (France, Germany, Russia) refused to do.
If the shoe fits . . . considering many Americans believe we found WMD in Iraq, Saddam was linked to 9/11 (or Al Qaeda), and the Sun orbits the Earth.people are sheep!
people are stupid!
idiots believe everything the Cheney/Rumsfeld/Bush White House tells them.
Who needs a conspiracy when the country is populated by morons?!morons!, conspiracy to hide the truth! we are the terrorists!

Isn't this the same "aspirin factory" YABAs use to attack Clinton-era intelligence? Is it your contention that al Qaeda and Iraq conspired together to produce aspirin? The bastards, no wonder we had to attack.
Who needs a conspiracy when the country is populated by morons?!

So is it safe to assume, using your logic, that 1/3 of Americans are?
On the question of finding weapons of mass destruction, for example, 33 percent of those who said Fox is their primary news source believe we found them. For the other news sources, it was CBS, 23 percent; NBC, 20; CNN, 20; ABC, 19; PBS/NPR, 17; print media, 11.
On the link between Saddam and al-Qaida, the percentages were: Fox, 67; CBS, 56; NBC, 49; CNN, 48; ABC, 45; print media, 40; and PBS/NPR, 16.
This is the same media that President Bush is now accusing of "filtering" the news out of Washington and telling only the "bad side" about Iraq and thus "forcing" him to give interviews to local television stations to "counter" them. He and Dick Cheney will undoubtedly attempt to spread even more misinformation.
From the "Watch What You Say" files, #5892375: a teacher at Oakland High School, CA, recently reported two students to the Secret Service after remarks they made about George W. Bush in a classroom discussion of the war in Iraq. The Secret Service then showed up at the high school and interrogated the students with neither legal counsel nor their parents present. The interrogation took place in the presence of the school principal, who, when asked by the students if they had the right to remain silent or the right to an attorney, allegedly replied, "We own you, you don't have any legal rights." Remember when the classroom used to be a place for learning and the free expression of ideas? Not any more, my friends. Welcome to Bush's America. Keep your mouth shut, look straight ahead, and don't say anything bad about Our Great Leader or they'll send the goon squad to have a quiet word in your ear. Note to conservatives who think that liberals want to turn America into the Soviet Union: are you blind?
Hmm, so a scarcely (if at all) Constitutionally-consistent law approved during a previous period of jingoist, militant fervor justifies current Bush militarism? IMHO, you are just sprinkling eau de toilette on a big steaming pile of poo.Read the War Powers Act of (1972, I think) and, moreover, we didn't declare war...the authorized the use of force. Though I have argued that the War Powers Act is unconstitutional (usurps power from the Congress), I believe your 'Constitution-thing' argument is moot.
