Anyway, you don't seem to really want to back your allegations up. Next time you yell troll on the boards (re: Infohawk without any reason just remember that you're the real trull here.

b0mbrman, stop thread-crapping. Ckg and I have been over this. If you want to discuss it just PM me instead of hi-jacking people's threads.... Regards.
Yikes. Sorry for defending you

CsG

If "it's a fuggin poll," create a fuggin poll.

For my part, I'm not happy. As far as I can see, this country is headed away from modernism and tolerance, and toward domination by a Christian fundamentalist ideology that I find repugnant. Our foreign policy has never, ever been more broken, and so we've never been more hated internationally. We have an executive branch with unprecedented power, and unprecedented secrecy to match. We are surrendering our civil liberties and personal safety, in support of a political agenda that benefits nobody (save perhaps Israel). Our throw-away, fast-food culture favors consumerism and religious zealotry over science and intellect.

If we insist on acting like the Romans, we are going to fall like the Romans, but don't ask me to be happy about it.

The biggest declines since 1998 are in those who feel good about:
The nation?s economy, down from 64 percent in 1998 (and 68 percent in 1999 and 2000) to 43 percent now.
Your job if you have one, down from 67 percent to 60 percent now.
Your standard of living, down from 90 percent to 85 percent.
Your financial security for the future, down from 67 percent to 62 percent.

Sorry to dampen the mood folks, I am a realist and I don't like Flag waving feel good fairies who tell me everything is great when I clearly see it is not.

It looks like people were even happier with life under President Clinton. I wonder why CsG did not mention this.

For instructions on skewing statistics, see above.

You pick one of the best economic years this country has had in its history as the starting point and then proceed to tell us how things have gotten worse. Well...DUH! You can't always stand at the top of the mountain.

How about we pull some figures from some of the recessions we went through over the last few decades and compare them instead, which would be a hella lot more equitable?

Thank you for confirming America was much better under Clinton that it is under Dubya. Is that why you all hate him so much?

The economy was better in the mid-late 90s. Clinton had little to nothing to do with that fact.

I don't hate Clinton either. I voted for him both times. I have not voted for Bush even once. The difference is that I don't hate Bush either (I just don't hate, period. It kills the intellect.) so I can view things without having to resort to rhetorical partisan antics.
