america, how much was your electricity bill in July?

$90 for a 3 br ranch. The swamp coooler has been running continuously for three months. Switching to CFLs helped. Replacing the Pentium 4 with a Core whatever has cut the computer electric use by more than half. I need to vacuum under the fridge again.

August bills are gonna suck for North Texas...Dallas will probably break the record this Friday for number of 100 degrees days in a row...record is 42 days set back in 1980 and we are at 37 days right now...

North Dallas here...not too shabby. Clocked in at 2800kW usage for $290 to keep 3k sqft cool from the constant 105+ degrees.

Was $92.59 from June 16th to July 15th. Will know July-August in a few weeks. Duke Energy in NC on a 2BR Apartment around 850-900sf set between 72 and 74F.

$665 because I work on Guam. The salary is good but the island, including the territory owned power company is corrupt as hell.

Power to serve my ass...power to ass rape you if you want air conditioning.

I should be getting the current bill in a few days, last month's was 177$ but that includes water as well. But it's Florida so I always assume summer power bills to be 150-225$.

$190

How the hell do you rack up a $400 electric bill?
In one of spideys threads he said something like he can leave the lights on 24/7 and pay for it because it's god given right to waste power. (he was probably talking about hypothetical)
One can also use that much power running a grow op. Sometimes police look for things like massive power bills that would indicate you leave your lights on 24/7 the way spidey does.

A month has 720 hours. Local power here is about $0.12 per kwh.
$400 = (x kw)*720h*(0.12 $/kwh)
x = 4.63kW continuously all day and night.

A good third of that will go to random stuff like running lights, dish washer, washing machine, computers. Maybe 3kw continously for random unexplained crap. That's about 3 air conditioners. If I lived in Texas and had a big house with really terrible insulation, that probably would sound right. Or it could be a grow op.

Biggest fear is zombie hurricanes. The windows can keep either one out normally, but combined, not so sure. That and my ATOT drugged-out comic relief fan club - don't need him sniffing around the house, though pics of great dane chasing him down the street would make for an epic ATOT thread.
You could invite him over as a party favor for the dogs.

Just checked mine, not as bad as I originally expected. $162, and I have a balance of $184. I'm on equal billing. I only need to pay $134. Now that it's starting to cool down and soon it will be winter, I probably wont be using the AC much anymore. So chances are my equal billing fee wont change much.

Last 3 bills....1750 square foot, 1 story home. I got a new American Standard 15 SEER heat pump....my electric bills were about $30-50 higher per month this time last year.

May = $70
June = $90
July = $120

Mine was $322. Highest ever.

I have a problem with teenage kids staying up until 5am every night though.

Anyone have a cure for that? I'm ready to start turning off the power at night.
