Interesting infinity fabric perf scaling in Spec from 8 to 32 to 64 across two sockets. Mark outlined it linearly. Looking forward to numbers.

Loving the AMD names. Ryzen, Threadripper, EPYC. Sounds like a company that's having a bit of fun with their (hopefully) improving good fortune.

Thanks to S|A forums.

I'm sure it won't take too long for folks to notice the process...
Drat. I was really hoping for intermediate Zen updates for some IPC gains before they transitioned to 7nm, which is probably due in 1H 2019.

Hopefully at least with 14nm+, Zen can hit 4.2 GHz or higher for most people.

This. At first, it was cringe worthy, but now, I have to say that AMD's naming is kind of growing on me. It's sort of refreshing to see a company not take itself too seriously with their branding while still letting the performance of their products do the talking, unlike some of its competitors.

Just showed the 32 core chip, and it's 4, 8 core chips that are connected with infinity fabric. Guessing Threadripper will be the same, should keep price way down
