The reviews of the new Freesync monitors V G-Sync are going to be fascinating.
The comment section may well implode and go full retard if there's a clear winner.:p

I wonder how comparative reviews would work. Sure, we could have the reviewer's subjective opinion, but what kind of metrics should be measured and compared?

Disappointed by LG not having a 3440x1440 model.

Looks like the BenQ will be the enthusiast leader out of the gate. Hope we get some reviews this week.

Great news. I guess tearing should be easy to spot to prove whether it's working as expected.

The other aspects will be interesting to see measured.

News have been so slow (in everything PC related) lately that it's always good to hear something new.

Hmm,good question.
I guess the obvious subjective "feel" of it in gameplay will be of importance along with whether or not any actual tearing can be discerned by the user.
Any suggestions on how a technical/data appraisal might work?
Would a reviewer try to induce tearing via game settings in order to see how either system copes?

Hopefully Blur Busters will get their hands on a monitor and give it a thorough testing, they seem to go very in-depth with their reviews. They used high-speed cameras and pretty simple, yet effective testing for the G-sync monitors so far.

I honestly don't expect there to be much differences between the tech's when working. It's possible Freesync might see slightly higher FPS while activated, but until compared, we won't know. ULMB mode is the only thing that I'd expect to stand out, but only important if ULMB is important to you.

Cost is probably going to be the biggest reveal on the comparisons.

I'm disappointed the LG 34UM67 won't be 3440x1440 from the looks of things. 2560x1080 is too low for a 34" screen.

On the other hand, LG will be introducing a curved QuadHD screen (34UM97) that will hopefully be FreeSync capable.

Is now the monitor some are reporting will have Freesync and be 3440x1440. If that proves to be true and Freesync works, then that's my next monitor.

EDIT: Ugh... so much bad info coming out of various sources. Who knows if any 3440x1440 will have F-sync...

My thoughts exactly, Jack. At a time where there is so much genuine cause for excitement, I see several people experiencing some form of disappointment in the future because they trust that some website has its facts right.

Just in time for the Samsung PLS FreeSync 4K monitor. Although the Samsung monitors have the advantage of coming in 3 different sizes.

Rumor is that the BenQ is IPS.

I find that unlikely... but it would make it a very interesting product.

LG freesync demo at press conference:

The presented at the show during the press conference demo unit showed various scenes in split-screen mode once with and once without FreeSync, and other scenes completely in FreeSync mode.

Freesync made at first glance a very good impression and the image had the same number of frames per second significantly more pleasant and smoother. Unfortunately, this idea did not really stick from the nature of things on video and play accurately - from the operation of the equipment should be exactly as was already the case at G-SYNC, make, where possible, for yourself. Create self hand could be, however, at least during the press conference, and not the driver options and settings for the time being remain uncertain.

Google translate is terrible. What the paragraph says is the free synch screen looks a loot more smoother and fluid than the normal one. However, due to the nature of the case, it can't be well demonstrated trough video. Just like with g-sync, if you have the chance to take a look do so and estimate for yourself weather it's good for you. During the press conference they were not able to get their hands on the monitor and play around with it, also driver options and settings are not known for now.

It's really late here, so if I messed up a bit I am sorry.

So when I read it this is what I think. They were saying that Gysnc was first presented as a hands on Demo and everyone got to actually experience it, play games with it, and was a full hands on experience. We know that nvidia brought press and developers in to actually experience Gsync first hand, in games and in real time. They could turn off and turn on the feature and see the results, as well as feel it.

So with this in mind, they are saying the freesync demo was just a visual demonstration. Hey, look at this video monitor demonstration with A sync on and look at this one without it. They could see the difference but was not at all a hands on in any way shape or form. So its hard for them to measure it at all.

Honestly, the fact that freesync has not been demoed in gaming still to this day should at least be concerning.....I know i find this really interesting and a little......strange.
