I think it's a combination of clueless broadcasters, paid off broadcasters and toxic fanboys who spout catchy slogans like "AMD spaceheaters" and "AMD's drivers are bad" which haven't been true in quite some time, but the average consumer listens to them..
Admittedly as it stands right now, Intel IS better, but when Ryzen releases at certain price points you can bet that AMD will have the best price to performance, and it will be up to us to make as much noise about it as we can, suggest builds for people, bring it up in casual conversation etc.
It might sound daft but AMD needs people behind them, they have the technology and they have some amazing products, but they need average joe.. And I can only see that happening if we, everyone, stops letting the fanboys have the last say.
