Finally up and running after the debacle with the Asus Prime x370. I bought an Asrock x370 Gaming k4 and got everything installed earlier today. I'm trying to update the bios though and I'm missing the flash utility from the bios tools. Does anyone have this board and able to flash a new bios?

Thanks

I still can't get why people are buying Asus if they are bricking left and right and the Aorus and MSI boards are perfectly good.

I have the MSI X370 Xpower Gaming Titanium, but I bought that only because of the wait on the ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero on Amazon last week. My build was planned around the Hero, including the 3D mount points (which isn't really that big a deal, they are just predrilled holes, and some template models), and the support for AM3 coolers. The number of 360mm AIO water coolers that shipped with the correct AM4 mounting hardware - or even had them available as a kit to purchase right away - was zero or close to zero. I have a Raijintek Triton 360 sitting here and a Arctic Freezer 360 on the way, and neither shipped with an AM4 bracket/backplate.

That plus all the other features. At least now I have the Titanium to fall back on if the Hero fails me. Hopefully the BIOS updates means it's relatively stable now, though.

It's not smaller though its just shaped a bit differently without fans they both weigh the same, I suspect that difference in cooling from that review more from how the offset changed the airflow in that particular test, or maybe the ambient temps weren't controlled precisely.

The D15S makes the heatsink sit higher up on the mother board as you cn see the D15 uses up the first expansion slot, but has some space at the top of the motherboard. the Define c case that I'm using has an adjustable exhaust fan so I was able to line it up with the coolers fans, I did put the cooler in a pull pull configuration though to avoid the memory slots
nevermind, ignore me when I drink a whole bottle of wine.

Let me know how it works. I have my NH-D15S in push/push right now and I'm curious what you get.

I did order a NZXT Kraken X62 for .... reason.

Odd the d15s is cooling more with 2 fans despite being smaller.

The D15S is the same size as the original, overall. The fin stacks are relocated.

The AsRock Fatal1ty X370 is almost identical to the AsRock X370 Taichi aside from having a few more components.

I am not sure I am willing to spend $50 extra over the AsRock X370 Taichi though even if the AsRock Fatal1ty X370 is in stock.

Considering how much I paid to get the Taichi on eBay, I would buy the Fatal1ty if it were available. The boards are basically identical.

I'm just about ready to give up trying to get an X370 motherboard I actually want and just buy a B350 board. I really don't want a Realtek NIC, but this is getting way too frustrating.

Greetings,

i finnaly ordered mine:

Now painful waiting🙁

Anyone know of any AM4 compatible cpu coolers that can be purchased in the UK?

NZXT cocked up their backplate, now have an unknown ETA followed by a 2 week shipping date on top.

Either that, or is anyone willing to sell their Wraith Spire AM4 cooler for a reasonable price?

There is this thing call torque. You might have learned about it in physics class.

I never understand why the heatsink don't attach directly to the case behind the motherboard so as to take the stress away from the motherboard.
Its mounted with 2 screws with max 0.6
The weight is far less than the max torgue can put on it as i can tell.

Sorry, Crumpet, I'm on the other side of the "Pond"!🙂

Has anyone used the Ryzen Master application yet? I just installed it and can't get it to run.

Installed and reinstalled. Tried the DriverUtility.bat -i and it gave an error that the driver is unsigned.
Figured out the problem. The driver is unsigned and since I'm running my Windows under UEFI, it cannot be installed and cannot be overridden.

Just out of curiosity, which video cards are you paring your Ryzen build with?

I am not a huge fan of buying expensive video cards because unlike processors, because video card performance increases rapidly unlike processor performance which seems to have hit a plateau.

I rather buy inexpensive video cards and upgrade more often.

You have a nice camera.

Im running a MSI Rx480 8gb model with my setup. I will upgrade much later on down the line since I just purchased this card maybe a month or so ago. I was thinking adding a second matching Rx480 card for crossfire in the summer or fall and then upgrading to Vega 2nd gen or what ever single card matches 2 x Rx480 in crossfire for $500 or less.how ever long that may take?

One thing I have to wonder is that if we are having trouble obtaining the motherboards, are the system builders having the same problem?

Just had a thought, will Win 8.1 work on the new Ryzen cpu's? Didn't I read something that only Win 10 was supported?
