PRIME X370-PRO BIOS 0612

That one is still the old AGESA? Why would they update it without the new AGESA update?

Just installed the latest beta bios for MSI Tomahawk. It acted really weird on startup, but it's at 3200mhz now.

Apparently ASRock stopped BIOS updates on the X370 Taichi the moment I decided to buy one...

Early to mid-June should see release of the AGESA 1.0.0.6 based UEFIs which opens up a lot more memory compatibility settings including subtiming, command rate, and strap control.

AMD just released AGESA a few days ago. It'll take the motherboard manufacturers a couple weeks to insert and validate it.

Still stuck at 2133 for me. I'd like to hit 2933 at least. May re-sell the LPX and get something else that has B-die just because.

Tried 612 Bios on my Asus x370, not sure if its new AGESA or not but asus still hasnt got their shit together, ram still wont run past 2133 no matter what i do, so yet freaking again im back on 515 where ram runs happily at 3000Mhz. So tired of new bios being worse than the one months old now, why the hell are we going BACKWARDS with ram speed when each release is supposed to improve ram comparability?

Asus has one more chance to get their shit together with the next bios or im selling this POS board. Guess thats what i get for thinking Asus was top tier.

There was no real difference between 0604 and 0612, just some stability improvements. It says that in the release notes. 1.0.0.6 AGESA has only just been finalized and going to motherboard vendors. Expect another 3-4 weeks for new BIOS.

How do I return to an old Bios? is it just the same exact way you update to the most current one (load bios file you want onto usb and install through bios?)

From the video the AMD guy did, it seems running the SOC voltage at 1.1 cures a lot of ills. Failing that, the new AGESA should be out in a week or two. Already out for the CH6 to great effect.

The 0612 BIOS automatically sets SOC voltage to 1.1V when you engage DOCP (Asus-speak for XMP). This didn't happen with earlier BIOS versions. I manually decreased mine to 1.0V since that seems to be enough, but I guess there's no harm running it at 1.1V if that's what AMD recommends.

I'm liking this BIOS so far. It's not AGESA 1.0.0.6, but it seems rock solid on my system running the RAM at 3200 C14

No cold boot problems either.

I hope the new AGESA doesn't cause more problems again, since 1.0.0.4 actually seemed to make memory support worse for some.

I thought the 1600X was going to be enough for me. I'm thinking about getting a full x370 board now, and upgrading to a 1700. Possibly maybe a Taichi? Something with Wifi. The only thing that held me back was having a mATX case. Now I want to get the Crystal 460X RGB, an ASrock board and the 1700. Woo. There goes my savings! Can't wait for the new bios updates, which I hope will fix the few performance issues i've been having.

I would say wait until you see some users update to a UEFI rev. based on 1.0.0.6 and see what they have to say about it before buying a new board. I really like my Taichi, but since you already have a 1600X you can probably afford to wait a bit.

I have a spending problem at the moment. I really wanted another system to play around with, just because I wanted to upgrade my case and a few other pieces. It's not really a big deal if I wait or not. Just got the upgrade bug.

Also, I think the UEFI update will mostly be for memory stuff. I'm not having a problem with my memory at 3200. Just slow M2 performance from a 960 Evo, and clock speeds not showing correctly...but I'm sure those are program issues.

There is a new bios for that, posted on the 24th. Maybe there?

I wouldn't update to that bios if you end up wanting to go back to an older one. I couldn't run my ram at 2933 mhz so I tried to go back to 0515 which I can and now there is a flashing error. Saying the ROM version is wrong. Asus still hasn't said what to do to fix it besides they're aweful generic talk. Waiting for another reply from them.

Ohhhh gotta try that!

edit: I have successfully updated to 2.34 beta on my X370 Taichi. Right now I'm on stock settings. Since I upgraded from 2.0, there are probably a lot of new widgets in there for me to discover.

Welllll so far, not much. I can boot DDR4-3333, DDR4-3466, and DDR4-3600. 3600 is not stable at all that I can tell.

The command rate setting is available in at least two different menus, and neither one seems to work. I'm stuck at 1T for now. That may be holding me back at higher clocks.

So many subtimings, so little time.

edit: I went back to the drawing board, reset to default, loaded up my volts, and forced XMP mode.

The first thing I noticed is that it tried setting my vDIMM back to 1.35v. I manually changed that to 1.4v.

The second thing I noticed is that despite the new RAM straps, it still set my DDR4-3733 to DDR4-3200 when engaging XMP mode. Near as I can tell, it set all the subtimings correctly (though a lot of them were on Auto, so maybe there's room for improvement there). DDR4-3733 had to be selected manually.

Using the timings/subtimings from the XMP settings, DDR4-3600 was mostly stable (y-cruncher crashed once, but everything else worked fine, and y-cruncher did complete a run of 500m). DDR4-3733 would boot and run SuperPi32m but y-cruncher brought down the machine with an Unexpected Kernel Trap or something silly like that. Didn't try anything else (it crashed). I am only using SoC voltage of 1.15v with LLC Level 3 (and vcore of 1.35v + LLC Level 1) so maybe I need to up that as well.

Still stuck on 1T.
