Got my 3900X yesterday and set my rig up.

ASUS Prime X370-Pro|3900X|16GB G.Skill 3200|Intel 600p 1TB|RX 570|3TB Seagate HD|Corsair Carbide Air 540|EVGA 750W G3|U2711

Currently running WCG stock at about 4Ghz all core. Temps around 78C with an H110i AIO. Voltage is auto and it's running 1.29 or so. I'm going to lock the cores at 4Ghz and manually set the voltage down a bit to bring temps down.

This X370 board is running the 3900X great. I've had a 1700X, 2700X, and now the 3900X on this board. It's been a great board since the beginning of the Ryzen age over two years ago.

Update to above post.

I think I might have a golden sample. I'm running the Microbiome WCG project on all cores locked at 4.1Ghz, 1.1v and temp is 70C. This isn't an AVX workload, but I still think it's a pretty awesome chip.

Can you duplicate @Markfw?

Still waiting on my 3rd chip (going in an x370 Taichi) to ship ! The one I am typing on is running 4050 mhz right now@71c but at 1.3 to 1.35 vcore. I have not messed with overclocking, alll stock settings.

Got the MSI B450 Gaming Pro and 3600 up and running together. These Ryzen chips are really impressive. $250CDN for the 3600 and this thing is running games as well my 3900X if I put the Titan in the machine. I used Ryzen Master to set it to auto overclocking and I don't see it go over 4ghz ever, but I may be doing something wrong. I put some Corsair CL15 3000mhz RAM in the machine, maybe I will play with that some.

Why hasn't Intel dropped prices? I guess they are still selling well on brand recognition?

If you run something non-AVX, they're pretty easy to tame.

A bit off-topic since we're getting into Intel's brand management and . . . psychology, if you will. But I would be surprised if they lowered retail prices.

Agreed, they have enough cash on hand not to be forced to bother.
I still think intel has some sort of trick up its sleeve for next year
No evidence just a feeling

I'm probably going to pick up a Ryzen 3600. Been wanting to convert my main rig into something a little more compact so planning to build using an ITX mobo inside a Corsair Air 240 (mATX) case. That should let me have enough clearance to have bottom intake fans below the GPU without hitting a mATX motherboard's pin outs.

Would you have need for a 120mm AIO WC kit? I have a C.M. kit with the AM4 mounting clips, the non-RGB model, make offer if interested via PM.

Got my 3900X finally.
Dropped it instead of my R7 1700. Ran some Cinebench R 20 and got scores of 7311 MT and 520 for ST (HWinfo open). It boosted mainly to 4,5-4,525GHz, occasionally diping down to 4,45-4,475GHz and the maximimum frequency was 4,55GHz during the run. During the MT test the CPU was 4,1GHz flat for the whole run.
And it's downclocking/volting itself nicely with the idle voltages flucktuating between 0,17-0,9V. The powerdraw from the wall at idle is virtually the same as with the stock 1700, temperature is dropping below 35c while sitting on the desktop. Although it has to be said that the fans on the cooler ramp up more often during normal use as they did with the 1700.

Expected a bit more headache to be honest.
Specs: Asrock X470 Taichi (BIOS 3.60), newest chipset drivers (as of july 10th), 32GB Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 3200 CL16, cooler NZXT Kraken X61.

Haven't run any benches on my machine since the BIOS update, but may try tonight if I have the time.

Second 16GB CL14 FlareX kit was added and is working nicely. I have NOT experienced any random system hesitation either--could have been linked to the manual OC I was testing.

Some memory deals for those who are looking for 32 GB kits:

Ballistix Sport AT DDR4-3200 CL16 $129 Micron E-die (Review: TPU)
G.Skill Ripjaws V Series DDR4-3200 CL14 $208 Samsung B-die

Even these are E-DIE. Both the 8GB and 4GB Crucial 2666 whiout heatsink are E-die.

Probably not the same quality. These are my 2x8GB Crucial 2666 whiout heatsink:

It has some issues, copy bandwidth is still kinda low for that speed.

Fantastic results. Have you tried to lower tRCD even if you had to loosen tCL or tRP somewhat?

There are apparently two steppings of Micron E-dies: ones fabbed on 19nm, and ones fabbed on 16nm. I have heard that Ballistix Sport AT are using the 16nm ICs, and Ballistix Sport LT are using the 19nm ICs.

Edit: I wish all memory sticks were sold naked.

Ooh. MORE 3900X action! Can the forums handle it?

My Ryzen R5 3600 has been strangely cool, doing 12 threads/tasks worth of PrimeGrid ESP, rather than PPS LLR, running around 67C. (Running at 4.02x Ghz all-core, 1.36xx vcore.)

My Ryzen R5 1600, manually overclocked to 3.80Ghz in Gigabyte B350 Gaming 3 ATX, using DVID +0.120 vcore, and RAM overclocked from 2667 1.2V to 3000 1.35V (single 16GB DIMM, CPU-Z reports dual-rank, Micron, not sure if it's E-die or not, but it had 2667 JEDEC profiles and did not require setting XMP or DOCP (I guess that's an Asus thing) to reach that clock speed.

Anyways, running the same load, 12 threads of PrimeGrid ESP, I was getting temps of 80-85C.

Note that the 1600 was using the 95W stock cooler, so not a bad overclock at all on the stock cooler, whereas the 3600 is on 240mm AIO WC.

I was burning-in the 1600 rig the last few days. Thinking of gifting it (or partial gift) to a friend's offspring. Thanks to a kind soul, I've got some RGB fan kits (Aigo branded) dual-ring with controller, to "bling up" the case, which is a $30 special from DIYPC, basic, but with a PSU shroud, and tempered glass, USB3/USB2 on front, and even a slot for a DVD drive still. Which I might install, who knows if this person still has some disc games. (*Stock pics of case and RGB fan kit in Cases & Cooling forum thread.)

Yes, and for this one I have a 280 mm AIO and a x570 board and 4266 memory, so I will be pushing this one.

I've heard good things about that EVGA CLC 280. Is that the one you got?

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/d2fmP6/evga-clc-280-1135-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-400-hy-cl28-v1

Can be a bit noisy. But I've seen it outperform some 360mm AiOs in tests environments.
EVGA CLC 280mm All-In-One RGB LED CPU Liquid Cooler, 2x FX13 140mm PWM Fans, Intel, AMD, 400-HY-CL28-V1
Thats what I got. Remember, I am deaf now, so I won't know if its loud, and I won't care if it is. Just noticed the RGB thing, and I don't like that, but...
