Also not all cpu's do that, if you want to do that, then lets toss used C0/C1 i7 920's which people are pwning off from anyhwere between 130-150.
You can get the 920 for 199 at microcenter new.
Please don't try to say you can still get the i7 920 for $199 now. That's like me telling everyone they can still get the AMD PII 920 for $134 or a movie ticket for $5.50 (prime time). Special once-in-a-while sales should not really be mentioned. I don't even see the i7 920 for $229.99 on Microcenter; it's not even on their website at all.
The worst part is that he's got the nerve to throw in
used processors. So what if you need to unlock some cores with a simple BIOS setting? Who cares if you can overclock a $50 CPU to be better than one that costs $500? Instead of complaining about them, you should be
buying them and using the money you save for a charitable cause, such as donating agricultural packs to villages in Africa.
Even if the 920 is $199 then it's still $100 more than this apparent AMD deal, and it is by no means at all twice as fast. On a good day with an excellent overclock it might be 25-30% faster than a Phenom 2 at 4ghz, and that's pushing it.
