The system goes much higher in FSB and multiplier but I have limited it to here for sake of quietness. 🙂

I'm jealous of all these fsb's higher than mine. Makes me want to do the VDD mod or get a Rev. 2 board.

8rda
2100+
166*13.5

I had it running at 200*11 but I can't get any ram to run stable at this speed. Even with 3200 HyperX I had to up the vdimm voltage to 2.9 in order for it to boot. At that everything would run fine except 3d apps. GTA3:VC kept locking up on me till I dropped it to 166*13.5

I replaced the NB+SB heatsinks with zalmans and put some on the mosfets to get the board stable over 185 but it is VERY picky about ram.

do you have the new a1/c1 nb or do you have the a2 or a3 nb... that might be your problem...

i am now at 11 x 220 on my abit nf7-s (2-3-3-6)

cpu-z says it is rev. A2.

Can you elaborate on what the problem may be? I just started looking for answers but haven't found much yet.

the older rev 1.1 a2/a3 nb steppings are having issues hitting over 200 mhz stable due to the fact that the vdd voltage is low.. ~ 1.6 volts i believe...

so in order to get the vdd voltage up, you need to do a vdd volt mod to your board which is relatively easy to do... you can increase you vdd voltage to 1.8 to 1.9 which will help you hit over 200 easy... people are getting about 220 after doing the mod..

i tried the mod but i did it incorrectly and fried my board (oopsies)

the newer rev 1.1 8rda+'s have the c1/a1 nb's... these have been able to hit over 200 with no problems at all... ( you can tell the difference by looking at the fin colors - older have silver fins on the passive cooler while the newer ones have black or dark fins on the passive cooler)

i am now up to 11 x 220 @ 2-3-3-6 🙂

i tried 229 but no boot 🙁

either ram can't handle it or board won't let me...

might need to do the vdd mod again to my board.. i have a feeling the pencil lead has smeared off

ABIT NF7-S

It can do higher. I tried 220 mhz fsb and it seemed stable. 233 was a no go though.

I have weak cooling so I am settling here.

Does the vdd mod affect the NB, or memory, or both? If I run things async the board will run all day at 200 and the ram at 166. This doesn't work too well performance wise but it is stable.

I wonder if I should just try the mod and see what happens. I can't really afford a new board at the moment though so I probably won't.

my pot may have been set wrong... or the wires i used weren't good enough... but yeah.. something went wrong....

i only know of one other person that's messed up a board due to this mod 🙂

so i think only two people failing is not too bad out of... however many there have been that have been successful 🙂

You don't think its the memory?

That is all the chip is good for, at 1.74 volts actual, and about 45c under load. I go 1.76 actual, and it shoots up to 50c, and does not go much higher on the raw speed, so I am done there.

I would OC it but the official BIOSes suck for overclocking

The FSB limit is most likely my kingston generic ram... How fast can an AMD 760 go?
