No, I'm claiming that all the cheap shots that people (you and others) make trying to start fights, make someone or something look bad, etc are equally bad.

You all are cut from the same cloth, it doesn't matter what color you've dyed it. All those actions are deplorable.

Because I don't think they actually tell you they're shills in the first place. I would be surprised if there weren't dozens upon dozens of shills here for AMD, Nvidia, Intel, and so on.

Hey mate, the point is they are suppose to put their hands up like the NV focus group...I only see Keys doing that....so if we do have shills, they should be declaring themselves...I think that has been Marks issue all along!

Agreed. I have no problem with a marketing person from X, Y, or Z company being present in the forum if they declare their involvement.

I simply see too much idiocy, and suspicious new accounts where someone is constantly posting in threads crapping on one company and praising the other non-stop regardless of logic or fact, for there NOT to be quite a few of these shills out there.

Even if 90% of those types are simply idiot fanboys, they're simply too numerous to not have some that are getting kickbacks for it.

The facts of the matter are that both AMD and Nvidia have many excellent products right now, and even AMD on the CPU side has some models that are valid choices. So it's proof positive of either a moron or a shill when someone is 100% for one company and/or 100% against another.

Well I imagine if there are any shills here one of the reasons they don't come out is because they don't want to get Key'ed by the Nvidia crowd.

The way Keys gets treated is shameful.

The advocacy program part is new though. It's being added to their current review program. They also state in no uncertain terms that the members will have to be transparent.

I find that unlikely, given the prevalence of trolls out there recommending stupid products/choices. They exist for all of the companies.

I should clarify : I mean that it is EXTREMELY unlikely that the shills will be transparent, not that there isn't the 'official' *wink/nudge* statement that they are *supposed* to be transparent. In other words, this changes nothing, SSDD.

We're not having the "AT has shills" discussion again. Every time you guys go at it you turn this place into a sewer while accomplishing nothing of value.

You can talk about the article. But any more accusations of shilling will cost you your posting privileges.

The might and powerful Virge has spoken so it shall be done 🙂

Honestly looks to be an extension of their profession review program which I think is confusing people. Its trying to extend to people that blog; do video reviews; videos of gaming *like myself* etc.......

It also states if these people come on; they have to clearly state they are part of the program; and no time shilling will be done or tolerated......🙂

Virge, I'm going to flat out say that *that* particular discussion is not the sole reason this place may be sewer like. Have you read it recently? It's two camps sniping at one another *constantly*.

This dispute between AMD and Nvidia can only be solved with large scale naked jell-o wrestling. :colbert:

I really don't want to see naked skinny geeks wrestling in Jello. And I will now hate you forever for that awful image in my head. There is not enough bleach in the world to wash that out.

Lighten up guys, I know the subject is touchy but let's all do what we buy video cards for, enjoy video games. Except for the guy in the corner mining Bitcoins.

I personally don't care about advocacy programs as long as it is fully disclosed. I do have a problem with how the nVidia program started with people like Rollo stinking up the place. But lately, I have no complaints about nVidia's advocacy program nor do I have one from AMD. Again, as long as it is fully disclosed.

A real conversation with Rollo? 😀 You're good at this comedy thing.

I caught the very tail end of Rollo's ban on here, so I haven't had any direct contact with him up until the other day. He is on that forum saying some really great things about AMD's products and their current bundles. He is saying for the most part the 7970 CFX setup he has doesn't exhibit any noticeable microstutter or frame latency issues reported on by various websites.

That being my only posts I've read from him, they're all grounded and sound pretty fair. I'm not defending any of his past actions, but did you actually even read anything on that forum?

And people who are constantly complaining. If it's 'sewer like' go and post on a nice angelic forumD:.

If this Advocate Program is anything like Nvidia's Focus Group then I am totally against it.

Anyone can change.I say Unban him from here and let's see.

I do believe that the majority is in agreement with me considering the results of the poll I posted a few weeks ago. This is a case of a very vocal minority ruining things for everyone else.

What do you want...a nice circle jerk type forum?. That's boring.

I agree there is room for improvement...but it's not as bad as you make it out to be...
