It does not make any sense. The slides said 12.01AM EST.12:01 am pst? why?????
Heh, Newegg's out of stock of Gigabyte's 6970 and the reviews aren't even out yet.
Well, they missed out on a couple of weeks of Christmas sales, so if they are going to do that, they are likely intentionally entering them in the market for less than their projected retail to try to get as many sales as they could to make up for the last few weeks of being late. Not so much dishonest as clever marketing perhaps.Kind of dishonest but ya I could see the bang for buck rearing its ugly head again.
Thanks very much, I was refreshing the 6000 search results, it still doesn't show up there.

I wouldn't really call it underhanded though. Problem may be if Nvidia goes ahead and lowers their prices, then the AMD price increase may backfire a bit, though I imagine sales will still be strong.I did say kind of. Meaning not exactly. This entire campaign was a bit underhanded but turn about is fair play.
So stop my technolust and tell me that my GTX 460 1GB SLI setup doesn't need to be replaced by a single 6950![]()

i know you guys won't like it but its from fudzilla.
That review is showing underwhelming performance, IMO. Throwing out HAWX 2, because that clearly favors Nvidia cards, it's still unimpressive. The hd6970 essentially ties the gtx570 in RE5, loses in Dirt 2 and Lost Planet 2, while winning in Stalker and Mafia II. And the gtx570 is cheaper.
Power and heat are up and it seems to lose to the 570 overall. Disappointing.
