Of course it is worth it. Netflix/Hulu will cost pretty similar and that is only one service you are getting. With Prime you get movies/tv/music/Kindle stuff and free two day shipping

I think its worth it. They now have a large amount of TV on prime that is different from Netflix. So its not a direct copy anymore.

Amazon has a lot of older HBO shows for example. Let alone their own shows they produce.

And of course the shipping is great as well esp if you need something fast.

I order a LOT from amazon as the prices tend to be the best. Not all the time. I order something at least once or twice a month. Also the video streaming I use a bunch with my kid for Nickelodeon shows which aren't anywhere else. So it's been worth it to me.

I always used Prime off of someone else's account. I was able to have Amazon cancel my account just now, and it allowed me to renew at the $67 rate.

I guess it will be kind of cool to use the music streaming service, and video - and I may check out a book or two now.

Good deal today.

It is worth it. There are several things I get on amazon I wouldn't get anywhere else.

Where Prime really shines though is for Christmas shopping. Being able to get 2-day shipping at the last minute on XMas gifts for free is absolutely AWESOME.

Dont' forget the $4 overnight. That's worked out well for me many times. Or if you want you can "slow boat" something 4-5 day shipping and pick up some credit for movie rentals.

Worth it for me. Free 2 day shipping, lots of free e-books available, and I watch some of the streaming videos, movies, shows. I started watching some of the Lie To Me and The FBI Files shows on there.

Free 2 day shipping makes it worth it. If you don't order that much, you will when you realize how useful it is.

The content? Well, it's there if you want it.

It is worth it, especially if you have an Amazon Rewards VISA. However, you still need to be careful - while many of the items on Prime are competitive with the same products sold by other vendors, many are not competitive at all. Hot tub supplies (mainly filters and chemicals) are one such thing. For anything I regularly order, I'll periodically check around at other vendors to see if they can beat the price (and factoring in the increased rewards from my Amazon VISA too).

I've tried the content once or twice, but the 2 day shipping is the prime! reason. There are very few weeks when something doesn't show up on my doorstep once or twice! Save me the hassle of gas, parking, time, having to deal with real people... etc

I've always said Prime is paying more just to buy even more stuff (we did the trial already), but with this $67 offer and the BOA rewards credit card that gives us a free $100/year, we're doing it.

Lucky I happened to check the site for something just now and saw the offer. Was going to sign up for the full price at some point.

Now that they have streaming music and movies, its a pretty good deal. In fact I think I could drop Netflix if I wanted.

Except Amazon will never get Daredevil.......

:hmm:

If you order very often from Amazon, then yes, it's worth the price. IMO, their video streaming selection sucks....worse than Netflix, but for me, their service seems more...stable. With Netflix, I get quite a few "hang-ups" where the video stops while it loads...(I have 50+ mb cable internet) but with Amazon, I ALMOST never have that. Otherwise, Netflix content selection is much better.
