My kid has been watching a lot of the kids programming on Amazon Prime. That said, Netflix or even YouTube has a lot of that content as well.

For grown up content, Netflix is much better by far.

You really need to use express shipping a lot to make the free two day shipping worth while. Personally, I'm usually happy using the free saver shipping and waiting an extra day or two.

Nowadays, prime isn't about the free 2 day shipping, it's about the free same day shipping.

The two day shipping almost makes it cheaper than driving for a single item. Amazon often has hard to find items too.
My local supermarket also sells Amazon gift cards that give me local gas credits in addition to any Amazon Prime benefits.

I honestly don't know how much I have benefited from it.
I order from Amazon all the time for crap I don't want to go to the store for.
I just don't know how much the free shipping has added up.
What is it, like $4-6 per order for 2 day shipping without prime?
That's like 20 orders per year... I don't think I ordered 20 items last year.
Maybe it's not worth it...
The $4 next day shipping is nice though.

edit: 33 orders placed in 2015 - Damn! I use it a lot more than I thought. 🙂

^ since I just joined prime and there's always this talk about just ordering instead of going to the store, I looked up something typical like Tide laundry detergent. The normal size is only from Pantry but they charge a flat $6 shipping for pantry items. WTF?

Got it when it dropped to $67 for their Emmy special. Don't know if we'll keep it but I'm liking the music streaming and so far the shows and movies are streaming well for us. We order from them quite a bit, would probably do more with Prime.

I order enough crap to make prime worthwhile. As far as video content goes, its actually pretty comparable to netflix.

The $6 shipping charge is per pantry box. The pack of two 50oz detergents fills 17.6% of a pantry box.

It's worth it for me. So far I've made 176 orders this year alone from Amazon.

I've made 251 😀

I dunno if I'll beat last year either.
251 so far 2015
364 in 2014
350 in 2013
172 in 2012

Amateur.

532 so far this year.
754 for 2014.
686 for 2013.
348 for 2012.
269 for 2011.

Full disclosure, most of those orders were for small electronic transations and not ordinary orders.

I have had it for years and certainly get my monies worth. It's often cheaper to just order something than spend the time and gas to go to the store. Plus their isn't an electronics store within 20 miles of me.
