It's just hilarious to be TP of all things and not food.

At the end of the day - you CAN wipe your ass with your hand and wash it afterwards. Or use a bidet... or take a shower immediately after.... At the end of the day, there are other solutions for shitting.

... There aren't other solutions for eating, however.

That's what I find so weird. It would be understandable if it was canned food or something or just food in general.

I stocked up a little extra on canned food myself. Probably always should have a good stock of that anyway.

Surely some entrepreneur will come up with a way to recycle "only slightly used" TP for a profit

The whole toilet paper hoarding is happening in my city now too. Everywhere is out.

I'm actually starting to get legit worried at this point, I have enough at home for now, but now I'm worried I won't be able to get any when I do need more. This is the problem with panic buying it forces everyone else to do it too.
Yup, you've really got little choice but to do so, luckily for me I live close to a small, out off the beaten path Dollar General and since Monday I've been able to buy it. I've got a moderate stockpile of 32 rolls, yesterday when I was there I got 3 more 4 packs, people there were also buying it quickly, a few told me they had been to local Walmart's/target/grocers and all were completely out. Price gouging galore on Ebay, https://www.ebay.com/itm/Scott-Toil...529697?hash=item44569742a1:g:RQMAAOSwWBNebDjm I mean damm, $12 a roll plus $5 shipping is just insane.

WTF's up with hoarding toilet paper?! Of all the things to hoard, that's one of the least useful. I'm gonna be pissed if I go to the store in a couple weeks, and there isn't any toilet paper for me to buy the *single* roll I get every couple of weeks.
Eh, I bought a jumbo package of TP at Costco 3-4 years ago. Not as jumbo as the ones I saw on people's carts over the last couple weeks there. Kind of medium. But I have plenty left, didn't consider buying any the last few weeks.

I don't understand the run on TP at all. I don't know how those people wipe their ass but I don't go through a roll every two weeks! I'm not keeping score but figure I go through maybe 3-4 rolls/year max. I'm just good at it! :)

Zero paper at my costco . If I get desperate and I run out of corn cobs I will get a Newspaper subscription. Problem solved
Hey, if you no mo paper you can use a sponge, then wash it. Boil it if you're wanting to disinfect it. In a pinch, I'm saying. Those foam mattress things, the yellow ones... you can cut them into sponges. Seriously. And I can tell you, they don't feel bad on your butt. I've had to use one a time or two.

Some psychologist on MSN I was reading said that it was just a reaction of the mind that allows you have control over something in an uncontrollable or new situation, even if it's just scoring some toilet paper, a placibo if you will. If they can do it on Naked and Afraid, we'll survive!

Here the normal supermarkets, Wal-Mart, Target and BJs were wiped out. Dollar Tree had plenty though. Not great quality stuff, but 4 rolls of double ply for $1 sure beats whatever you're gonna score anywhere else.

Need to come up with a machine that can convert regular sheets of paper into soft sheets to be used as toilet paper.

Buy stocks in Dunder Mifflin first though.

Dollar General has the "DG" brands that compete with Charmin or anyone, not bad at $3 for a 4 pack, my 32 roll stash should prove sufficient. Jesus, we used to post here about how to overclock shit and what power supplies were the best, now we've been reduced to a thread about TP, god help us!.

I got everything I needed this morning at the grocery store. A lot of the shelves were looking pretty bare, but they had ample chicken and meat which was good. I only bought the 1lb of chicken breasts that I needed for the week.

Then I saw this jackass:

This store had a sign stating two items (of select items) per customer. Guess he got his two things of toilet paper.

I have to assume stores will be re-stocking next week. Hopefully the initial hoarding is over and I can just walk in next week and buy whatever I need without long lines.

I was curious if you can order straight from Kruger (one of the major manufacturers) but does not look like it.

I'll just wait this out and hope for the best. I just started a new package that I bought a while back before things got crazy so I should be good for at least a month, if more. Never really kept track of how much TP I really use but it's not really a crazy amount. Maybe things will stabilize by the time I need more.

Overall I'm mostly stocked in all essentials right now so if people start panic buying anything else I should be ok.

Surprisingly, I was able to get most of the things I needed at my local grocery store. They were wiped clean of paper goods, liquid hand soap, bread, pasta, and a few types of canned vegetables, but they had plenty of other staples. Surprisingly, frozen vegetables were quite well stocked.

Fortunately, for our own paper goods, our house is generally well stocked.

My tin-openner has broken! At any other time that would be a comment for the 'first world problems' thread, now I'm not so sure.

There is an upside to all this stupidity, though.

One of these days you will be able to tell your grandkids (and great-grandkids) how you lived through and survived the great toilet paper apocalypse of 2020!
